On this day, March 12, 1968. Nevada.

Test "Buggy" was conducted for civilian engineering purpose in order to appreciate the possibility of excavating a channel.

The test consisted of detonating of 5 devices (1.08 kt each) simultaneously, placed 46 m from each other and 41 m below the surface.
The test resulted in the creation of a channel 77 m wide, 261 m long, and 20 m deep.
