Politics The EU is killing Europe

You keep on posting the same stupidity, suggesting that the EU forces its members into taking people of other race.
Just look at random Polish sport team and you will hardly see any non-whites.
Are you implying that the EU forces its „diversity” policies on just some countries, while the other ones don’t need to obey these rules?

You are a racist, as several forum members have already pointed it out.
🙄 sigh.

One can lead to another.

Same thing happens in society through passive acceptance. Slowly but surely what was the exception becomes the norm, and then the rule. Once it got accepted, you can more easily implement laws and legal framework to cement whatever you are trying to put in place.

The concept of influence applies to many fields and to many time frames.

It is social engineering, simple as that.

As for it being the law, well, yes, it is the law. But does one must abide by the law if it means certain death? (to put it in a mildly prosaic way)
The Nuremberg Laws were that...laws

You have no reason to complain about being called that when all you ever seem worried about is colour of skin. Most of your posts in this forum revolve around Europe not "looking" "white" any more.

Who gives a flying eff what people look like. What they do and what values they observe is what matters. I take issue with immigrants from certain countries because they disrespect their host societies, not because of what they look like.

If they abide by the law of the land, their skin colour could be purple or see-through for all I care.

By the way, Argentine is—as per their own stats—"only" 78% "white", according to Wikipedia.

If you guys are so obsessed with the whiteness of your countries... start f***ing. Either that or just enjoy the different flavors. Think of it as the Baskin Robbins of poon. Unless, your obsession with the "whiteness" is a hidden racist innuendo, then I believe you have clubs for that there.

I'm concerned about loss of cultural aspects. Such as food, we hardly eat the same food as our forefathers, except when visiting grandparents. And I think plenty of people spent most of their time with English language entertainment (ironic for me to complain about this). So maybe in few generations we will be a large gray global blob, without much variation.

Meanwhile I don't see how people like my cousin with black biological dad, raised in the country, would be a problem. Even if they happened to play football...

Ironically, we foster problems not just through misguided migration policies but also by the segregation we allow to happen. And I mean segregation that goes both ways.

Yesterday, I read a headline from Austria about a class in a Viennese elementary school where only 3 of 30 students speak German as their first language. It said one of the three has decided to learn Arabic because he couldn't find any friends.

That's 90% immigrants. In a city where "only" 40% of all children under 10 are born to immigrant families. Never mind the fact that 40% is much too high for a society to handle—who in their right mind thought a class with 90% immigrants was a good idea?

The Danes are doing it right. It's not enough to reduce migration, you also need to break up the ghettoes.

Frankly I couldn't give a fvck the colour of the atheletes that represent my country. What kind of stupid metric is that? They've chosen to represent the nation they live in, good on them. All I really care about is winning. (same applies to club sport)

Well...I'm just catching up with this thread...and I want to say I 100%, wholeheartedly approve of Argentina's Women's Hockey Team. I see a lot of talent!!!

Regarding immigration, people will either assimilate or be allowed to conquer. Probably the latter if cultures are incompatible. The US has always been considered a melting pot. Immigrants come here and assimilated into Americans. First the English, then the Scotts, then the Irish, then the Chinese, then the Germans, then the Italians, Greeks, Swedes,, Polish, Indians, etc., etc.

When immigrants flood too quickly, they may not assimilate and then demand that the home culture changes to accommodate them. We are witnessing this in Western Europe and the US.

I'd agree, but with an asterisk. Especially in football it's also a marketing choice. If you get nominated for your national team, you can immediately add another zero to your salary. And many football pros do signal between the lines that they don't actually like playing for their country, as it often conflicts with their commercial career schedule. Which is why non-tournament matches hardly ever see the A team compete.

I'd largely agree, though what I personally think is happening in Europe is not so much a demand to accommodate but indifference giving birth to parallel societies.

Having said that, this bit is interesting to me:

In all honesty, I've never understood the "melting pot" epithet. The very existence of a "china town", a "little italy", a "little korea" etc. in almost every major US city seems to contradict that claim, at least to a degree. Also, from its very inception, the US has seen wave upon wave of resentment against migration motivated by a feeling of threatened identity. First the Irish, whose Catholicism was anathema to largely English-descended Americans, then there was a backlash against the Chinese, followed by a major backlash against the Germans (giving rise even to its political party) …

I'll try to explain. The melting pot is real. I am the son of immigrants, the first American born in my family. My wife is the daughter of immigrants. I am proud of my heritage, but I am also 100% red, white and blue. You can have a Greek Town, China Town, etc., and still know who you are.

The English and Scotch resisted the Irish. Before you know it they were intermarrying. The Germans didn't come to the US and tell the Irish, you are infidels, we will enter your homes and convert you to Lutheranism while we rape your daughters. Everyone added to the melting pot. Everyone was just happy to be here and work, have opportunity, progress and raise a family. Greeks marrying Italians, Germans marrying Dutch.

Next thing you know, we're all Americans. And if you are first or second generation or so, you still keep your traditions from the "old country" alive.

It's a beautiful thing.

Honestly I think the "melting pot" system really is that you can do anything you are capable of, but you are on your own. The government will not do anything (basically) for you.

So you can try to melt the pot, but pretty much the pot melts you with harsh reality. And out of the other side you get second and third generation that are pretty quickly just Americans.

People can hyphenate all they want, but you go live somewhere else for awhile and you realize that you are a Cheeto eating, supersized, monster-truck driving American pretty quick.
