This smells like what is called a "Color Coup" or Color Revolution". But who would gain?
is there a spokeman coming forward? Any deported kazak claiming the throne? if not it suggests a genuine 'pissed-off' populace.

My tuppence:

Kazakhstan is bloody miles away from Europe, and most americans would struggle to get within 2 countries on a map without names.

Appreciate the timing issue, but outside of that, the 'its the west' gang, doesnt seem to be able to produce a 'leader' nor an 'opposition' even locally, never mind based in some pro-western/ex soviet territory.

Please note, the west, doesn't treat every disaster, man-made or natural, as being caused by those crazy ex-commies that used to rule half of europe.

From the stories coming out, it seems pretty violent, and yet pretty quick to escalate. The Kazak gov has asked for help from its partners, thats fine, where it goes after this, who knows.

Big oil producer like Venezuela. They want low cost fuel etc.... Isn't this all familiar.
Foreign Oil Companies in Kazakhstan

CDR Salamander's take...

Interesting, considering that the CCP was busily stockpiling 50% of the world's food last year. Who will be the first to prop up K-stan? Russia or China?

China stockpiled on a lot of things before "things went sideways".

They already landed, I've posted video of them disembarking few hrs ago.
CSTO troops went to guard strategic facilities in order to protect infrastructure and also to prevent serious weapons from falling into the hands of the crazies.
