Politics Tariffs/Trade Wars

Personally I think the US/China relationship is now past the tipping point one way or another and the Chinese have started the countdown on Taiwan. Sometime after the next US election, which we all know will be a divisive manure movie. But before something else major happens that could degrade China's chances of success.
I believe it will happen around or even before the mid terms. China's besides their ship building rush have been assembling amphibious sustainment capability and sending Naval forces to gauge response time and capability around the Pacific. The US is sending AShM to the region.

Whether they will concentrate on Taiwan or strike at the Philippines and bases around the Pacific at the same time like the Japanese did I'm not sure about.

Most orders with them need a deposit so there must be really stressed US buyers right now. But if China decides to carry out the threat then this hard weaning from the tit is good thing.
These little trinkets of consumer satisfaction can be deferred or forgotten. We went through covid lock downs and are still here. Rather go though an ah well its not in stock than a lock down.

Please tell me you don’t t believe what you just typed.

Didn't he link a trade deal for UK to removal of UK national legislation regarding whatever woke laws he discovered there?

I got the impression from the article.

Haven't we seen the results? Trump didn't just get elected on a whim.

If US slapped 25% tariffs and EU would do the same, could EU replace the lost trade? In such event 17.5% decrease on exports to the US is forecast. (Less clickbait title for the video)

Looks like the Japanese are pissed

Since the tariff and the port fees for chinese ships, look at the West Coast ports...

Compared to the Asian ports...

Expect a lot of surprises in the supply of goods in the next few weeks.

While I think these hate speech laws are not great, I doubt any serious country is going to hand their sovereignty in such way over a trade deal.

Starmer told UK must repeal hate speech laws to protect LGBT+ people or lose Trump trade deal

I was under the impression that the US immigration services screen social media for antisemitism too.

Not that I know of. I also just read today, that a girl in Spain was arrested for giving speech on immigrants the commie government didn't like.

Not saying it's bad. Just that social media screening and repercussions exist.

Spanish government gave an arrest order? Or how are they directly involved in that particular case?
