Well when your current ally, is only an ally for 4 years. Why would they risk destruction. The current feel on the ground in Taiwan is not the same as you would see on the news.

It would be one country and a nice exclusive economic zone.
 
From my last visit, actually well. Ibtried out the internet and I would say I experienced more censorship in South Korea than in HK.

There will be teething problems but its pretty normal now.
