Mil News Current Iran/Iraq/US Tensions and Actions Unfolding

Weaponized papier-maché.
Mardonius will probably have more intel than me, but as far as I am aware they only built one as a tester 2016-2018 - might not have even got off the design board

It was the name that was funny - Aurora - the name for the US project to build or not to build a Mach 6+ jet - 20 or more years ago

Seems like you are stuck in the 90s mate, with your Gulf War references. Time to wake up to reality and 2021s military balance.

The red coats don't rule the waves no more and the yanks have lost their global supremacy.
Dude it was a turkey shoot:

Yes its now a different world, but if you think USA etc has stood still, you are in for the fright of your life.

The Gulf War is nothing more than an anomaly in a long list of US failures the past century. You are blinded by their apparant technological prowess and marketing skills.

I remember that "beauty" being quite the subject of attention back on mp.net.

It was a 1:1 mockup: https://theaviationist.com/2013/02/02/iran-new-stealth-fighter/

What taxied was an empty husk.

What flew was small-scale drone.

It lacked engine nozzles. Its cockpit was too small to fit a normal-size pilot. Official statements specified that the F313 could carry two 2,000-pound bombs plus six air-to-air missiles—a huge load for such a small fighter.
The 2017 model has appeared in official videos slowly taxiing on an airfield tarmac. Not flying, just taxiing.

It must have a small motor of some sort to allow it to taxi. But it probably lacks aeroengines and certainly can't fly. Unless you drive it off a cliff.

In other words, Iran is no closer to developing a working stealth fighter than it was seven years ago.

I'm not blinded by anyone, I was there.

On the ramp near us, They delivered a 747 or a Galaxy every 10 minutes. For 6 months.

The next ramp was starlifters, and DC8 - one every 5 minutes. For six months.

I like historical analogies, they say Yamoto knew Japan could never win, as he had been to the USA, and understood their industrial strength. If your outlook reflects Iranian views, then Iran is grossly underestimating the capabilities of the USA and its allies.

With age comes experience

Guy with the biggest wallet usually wins and usually has more friends

You will be fighting over your sandpit - you won't be fighting over America - fact

Americans won't be bothered what they dump in your sandpit it will just be another day for them

The only powers that would cause the yanks any issues are Russia and China - and you are not up there

Never said we ruled the waves - we are happy with our place in history - just don't go down in history as the idiots who prodded the yanks till they gave you a smack - its just another tour t-shirt for them

You still have not been able to confirm Iran's end game - what do you expect to achieve - you never seem to answer that one?

Once the oil runs out or someone cracks fusion energy you will just be another third world country in a backwater

The First time was a complete and utter victory - the only thing that stopped the US going into Iraq was a UN resolution - and public opinion saw it as a massacre as Saddam's troops ran away
Only real looser was it took them a year to put out the oil wells which were on fire

Second one more of the first - only thing is the Coalition didn't seem to have a plan for the power vacuum left behind
Should have been no journalists - martial law for three months and then a real rebuild plan

The only bit they actually failed in was the 'peace' plan for afterwards - the crushing and destroying Iraq's armed forces went by the looks pretty much to the detailed military plan

Marketing put a man on the moon (Y)

Heck of a genius we got over here. Let's generalize two different weapon systems solely because they belong to the same branch of projectiles!

Do they often throw around these kind of hollow analogies over there in kiwi-land?

You were the "genius" lauding Iran for having ballistic missiles that could land within a decent CEP. Something the US, USSR (and the UK and France) all mastered in the 1960's. Claiming that Iran is "high tech" for mastering a 60+ year old technology is ... a pretty hollow analogy.

But hey whatever makes your propaganda masters happy.

They have become much more advanced tho. In the end, who cares about the timeline of technology if it gets the job done. We are still living in the dawn of the missile age, and they are going to retain their prominence in warfare for the foreseeable future.

It is also ridiculous to argue that countries mastered the same technology decades ago. Nearly half of Iran's population was illiterate years before the revolution; the country barely manufactured anything on its own and was dependent on American contractors to keep its air force in function.

If you compare the country's industrial and scientific output to the '60s, it has been nothing more than a miracle how Iran has held on its own despite nearly a decade of war, isolation and economic and military embargoes, while continuing to advance in a number of fields.

But hey whatever makes your propaganda masters happy.

Well...if the mullahs are reading this forum, let them know I'm willing to discuss compensation for my valuable work over here.

The arrogance and stupidity runs so high in this post, that it deserves nothing more than the:

So Iran is a walk in the park.
Why US didn't teach them a lesson then ?
Because their recent ex-president didnt start any wars. He saw no gain in taking Iran or anyone else, down the ladder of success.

This may now change.

Anyone with a good deal of logical senses would conclude that the sole reason why Israel or the United States haven't attacked Iran thus far, is because both countries either lack the capabilities to undertake a complex operation that would be needed to significantly degrade Iran's nuclear infrastructure (in the case of Israel), or have become aware over the years that a conflict with the country is too costly, can easily spin out of control and would be plagued by questionable outcomes (in the case of the US).
