Oh, Jesus f***ing Christ.

MAGA camp: "The Biden administration is incompetent and ossified by bureaucracy!"

Also MAGA camp: "The Biden administration didn't respond to a request for more security in a timely manner, this is proof Joe's ordered a hit on Trump!"

@Chazman, just accept the fact that the Secret Service has a terrible track record protecting presidents or other leading politicians. I recommend Hanlon's Razor to you: Never assume malice where incompetence is a sufficient explanation.

Yes, Biden DEI hire, head of the Secret Service. I agree with you completely.

Agreed. Regardless of personal responsibility, by the way. There's a political responsibility. If your people F*** up, it's your job as their boss to take the fall. By the way, is there a truth to this? Some media claim a British tourist saw the shooter trying to get onto a nearby roof and when he told police, they basically treated him like a meddling busybody and sent him off. Sounds like an Uvalde kind of situation of bad police work.

The BBC interview is on the previous page.

Looks at history of the US... par for the course. Americans being shocked and wondering why it happened, is more of a sign of the US education system failing at their job

We all are.
Looks like a lone wolf type of guy who was arrogant enough to feel "chosen" to make history. Not really surprising.

Nor unusual and atypical by American standards, to be honest (although I think @Junglejim's words were a bit too harsh).

Maybe he was inspired by some of the more recent assassination attempts against high-profile politicians worldwide.

That's an unfair assessment. I think shock and the question of "why?" is pretty universal after events like these, even in countries where this type of activity is more common. It doesn't help that the media always hypes these questions up. But hey, don't let me stop you from making generalizations.
