What I find fairly interesting about the left's mental gymnastics here is that not only do they engage in, and thereby justify, "cultural appropriation" as well as ethnically insensitive casting; they're also making it look like the 16th century was a place where a woman of colour could've become Queen of England, which was decisively not the case. Isn't that akin to absolving the era of racism?

I met plenty of very decent and agreeable blacks or Arabs people in my life whether traveling or here at home. Some are my neighbors too.

I did my genealogy and family tree and on my mother side we went as far as the 1600s. Those were peasants, parents of peasant etc etc until my maternal grandfather who worked his ass off in a car factory for decades. Mind you that was in the 50s, 60 and 70s and hundreds of Arabs (mostly Algerians, Tunisians…) were his colleagues because post war France needed labor too, just like Americans needed cheap Hispanic labors too.

Quite frankly, I'm beginning to think their strategy is to get normal people so irritated they simply tap out from political discourse in order to protect their sanity. God knows I can barely be bothered to react anymore.

Having said that, I'd also submit that the media – conservative media, that is – are complicit in giving the insane ideas of the left more airtime than they would've gotten on their own. Who even knew that weird professor before? No one. But now, her view points are trending. And that's not due to her popularity, but due to media like rt.com picking the story up.
