Because the amount of time put into the investigation is practically zero these days. "Other priorities", "lack of available resources" etc. Has been going on for years.In fairness, though, burglaries do have an atrocious crime clearance rate in virtually every jurisdiction. They're just a bitch to solve due to the nature of the act. For 2021, the ratio was 14.1% in the US, 15.7% in France and 19.5% in Germany to give just three examples.
So it's save to say that the vast majority of cases will remain unsolved.
Available resources pursuing other priorities like beating up people not wearing masks, dragging authistic children saying random things to officers out of their homes, posting "hurtful" things online or standing at the side of the road with a lasergun collecting additional taxes.
