According to this Indian source, the mayor of Kherson confirmed that Russian forces are setting up checkpoints in the outskirts of the city. So the video may be legit.

I am actualy surprised it is taking so long for Russians to even enter it. Birdges still intact. Initial defence of Kherson didn't look very promising, that one large UA convoy was also destroyed there. But it's a large town. Doesn't mean there won't be further resistance.

It seems that Russians finally entered Herson

If so, it's definitely operational progress compared to sending a bumper to bumper column in and wait what happens next.

In other news, unconfirmed reports about more than 5 Russian planes down over Kiev region alone this night

Btw., liveuamap seems down, is there any other source of maps being updated as the conflict unfolds?

They simply avoid entering towns. And they will have to change that. Entering towns means street fights, casualties, civilian casualties and destruction... Now they suffer casualties because they didn't clean cities.

But fact that Herson bridge wasn't destroyed is a mystery to me. Somehow i will start to believe that they have some deal not to destruct major objects of civilian infrastructure, as for now, we do not have a single major object destroyed.

Ah, and you had me wondering. Russians not driving bumper to bumper and actually entering town in a way they might be able to defend themselves ... there was something fishy about that ?

Facepalm indeed.
Its ok to remind other nations who think they will get the same treatment.

I mean, it makes sense. They would suffer even greater casaulties if there is any meaningful resistance in the towns, and they'd be bogged down by that decicively. We already have a taste of it in and around Kharkiv and Kiev. How terrifying urban combat can be.

The UA probably didn't have enough time to prep charges. I don't remember if it was posted here already, but there is combat footage of how Russian tanks drive over the bridge while being engaged with what I pressume was atgm fire. But not taking any losses.

In other news, the KA-SAT network of communications satellites has been offline since 24 February. The operator attributes the outage to a cyber attack that ocurred in the early phase of the invasion of Ukraine. KA-SAT provides high-speed satellite-based internet access for central Europe and the Mediterranean. It is a subsidiary of the US-based company Viasat that also offers encrypted communication for the US military.

As a result there have been internet outages in the Ukraine, Czechia and Germany among other European nations. "Der Spiegel" reports, that as a sort of collateral damage, the major result in Germany is the absence of the remote monitoring capability for thousands of wind energy turbines. While the individual turbines continue to produce electric power and will shut down automatically in case of failures, the integrated remote control function via satellite link communication is currently not available.

Why the roads aren't cut by excavators? Flood the water table. They dug massive tank ditches ww2.

Col. Macgregor has interesting points. Also interesting is how Jennifer Griffen literally bristles after.
