Translation: We’re not Americans, we don’t bring you ‘democracy’. If you have it, it’ll stay that way. Ukraine remains Ukrainian. In the near future, we will remove the power of the regime that sells you to foreigners. Don't waste your lives for this rot, save them for your country & your loved ones. Your regime is Calling Russia an enemy & inviting NATO here, they left us no choice. We are not enemies. A little more and you will be convinced of this. Don't engage and we won't engage you.

What strikes the most is the all western / western-inspired weaponry there. Apparently there are rumors that they are deserters of some kind, but nothing confirmed so far.

A bunch of IPI Malyuks. It is said to have completed Ukrainian army trials in 2016, and it is now believed to be in limited use by the Ukrainian military. It partly serves as an alternative to the Ukrainian IMI Tavor clone.
And also a Zbroyar Z10.

Combination of these guns are usually seen among Ukrainian SOFs.

These guys also appear to be wearing Jaba Stepova camo, which is, again, consistent with Ukrainian SOF.

Would be kind of awkward if regular Ukrainian police, or even civilians, started arresting Ukrainian soldiers and SFs.
Which wouldn't fail to remind the "Russian soldiers dressed as Ukrainian soldiers" who got killed while driving a truck with a ZSU 23-2 mounted on the back.

BMP2? The only one I know in Uk is in a museum, and has been there 20 years.......Fuel tanks in the back doors, FFS.
Along with what has been going on so far, and on what has been said here about the Russian doctrine, I'm getting the impression that Putin wants the Ukrainians to exhaust their resources and manpower on countless waves of cannon fodder and crappy equipment before he sends in the real deal.

Can't possibly despise *spit* more.

It's certainly possible, however the Russians might have underestimated Ukrainian resolve, skills, and equipment as well. It's also possible that the Russians are keeping better equipment and units in reserve just in case NATO gets involved. Also, these possibilities certainly aren't mutually exclusive. We really won't know until all is said and done and even then things might be a bit foggy.

Interesting detail, it appears a "flag" was painted/apposed on the turret at some point.

Flags could be seen painted on the turret during the mid 90ies, then it appears flags were painted on the hull instead.

As of late I haven't seen any Russian BMP2 (or any other model) with its flag painted on the turret, but there are examples of BMPs from Novorossiya.

The Polish FM is flying to Berlin in order to talk to German politicians and pressure for wider sanctions against RU and more weapons for the UA.
"5000 helmets is a joke.", he says.

@Musashi posted earlier a vid with a Ukrainian officer claiming they had cleaned Kiev of Russian troops.

I haven't heard anything about fighting in Kiev today. If that is correct that is an enormous achievement.

True and it would beg the question, why Russia considers it a wise idea to order seemingly random troop drops, which then are to be annihilated by the Ukraine (Hostomel, Kiev), same goes for these chaotic "traffic jams" and apparently chaotic movement in general.

Is it possible that we just highly overestimated Russian capabilities and that Russia is more or less what Obama claimed: a regional power plus nukes?

or maybe these movements seem random to us because of little info we get in small pieces but for them its pretty clear what they are doing.
