Hungary said on Friday it had received a group of Ukrainian prisoners of war from Russia, a release that Ukraine welcomed while expressing concern that it had not been informed.

While imo @Fluff was somewhat overestimating Ukrainian vehicle numbers this one is acting like the tanks and heavy IFVs that have been donated is the only thing Ukraine has left.

Based on numerous NATO sources and the number of donated vehicles Ukraine has at least 12 re-equipped armored or mechanized brigades that were taken out of the line months ago or newly raised for the offensive. All accounts of offensive action so far mainly involve 3 out of 12 brigades.

Probe first. When to not or cancel and don't waste further forces and reserves, have them pinned and trapped. In short they are being cautious, but aim to exploit whatever is feasable, trying not to lose the momentum. Losses will be unavoidable in that environment and are expected. Both sides lay minefields and use anti-tank weapons. That's just how it is. This is a huge operation, that will possibly stretch itself into weeks and months.
