I have never been a big fan of Erdogan personally and this rowing back and forth doesn't really make that image any better in this situation. Even sitting down in a cabinet like adults and negotiating tight demands would be better than these mixed messages.

In the past Turkey has been an essential post WW2 ally to the west. Bravo.

The sooner Erdo is gone, the sooner we can find out where Turkey wants to stand with Western Europe and NATO. Perhaps we might see a realignment of NATO, with Turkey and Hungary forming their own little western friendly alliance outside of NATO? From the looks of it today, that would be a better fit.

somebody seriously needs to deliver these guys hearing protection
It's ridiculous how they still have to cover their ears while using this extremely expensive equipment like those couldn't be delivered. Its slowing the operation of the gun in multiple ways.

I'm going to guess they *are* using hearing protection.

The American M777A2 howitzers came to Ukraine without the AFCS digital fire control system. The system allows for automatic correction of fire by GPS, which allows you to increase the pace and accuracy of shooting. Why this electronic unit was removed is not clear, perhaps because of fears that the howitzer will fall into the hands of the Russian army. There have already been reports that one howitzer has been captured by Russia. It is worth noting that the M777 howitzer is quite good and the lightest in the world. One of the problems when using it in Ukraine may be the cost of ammunition, the price of a projectile from $ 60,000.

Russian troops used incendiary shells MZ-21 on Azovstal in Mariupol. The Ukrainian media immediately announced phosphorus ammunition, but in fact unguided rockets MZ-21 were used. The 9M22S projectile is designed for firing from the BM-21 Grad combat vehicle. The incendiary element of the projectile is a shell of hexagonal cross-section made of magnesium alloy ML-5, in the blind socket of which a pyrotechnic composition is pressed.

The Azov battalion surrendered in the city of Mariupol. The wounded are being taken out of Azovstal. The commander of the Azov, Denis Prokopenko, published a video message in which he de facto recognized the surrender of the Azov. "The defenders of Mariupol fulfilled the order, despite all the difficulties, they delayed the superior enemy forces for 82 days and allowed the Ukrainian army to regroup, prepare more personnel and receive a large amount of weapons from partner countries. No weapons will work without professionally trained military personnel, which makes them the most valuable element of the army. For the sake of saving lives, the entire Mariupol garrison fulfills the approved decision of the supreme military command and hopes for the support of the Ukrainian people."

According to Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister, Anna Malyar, 53 seriously wounded Ukrainian soldiers were taken from Azovstal to Novoazovsk, and another 211 people were taken to Yelenovka (DPR territory).

I read this MLRS strike was not so much to hit AZOV but to destroy mines/IEDs/etc.
Using fire to remove explosives "makes sense" in the way heat will cook explosives out and eventually cause them to detonate.

But that's the first time I have heard about that kind of method to remove unexploded devices.

According to sources on location, and quoting, "the most intense missile barrage since the war started is currently hitting Lviv". So far 8 explosions (they told me "massive explosions" but... that's pretty subjective) in the past 30 minutes.

On a lighter note, Arma3 made yet another victim:

....

The most obvious reason is the reduced amount of training time Ukrainian troops have spent preparing to use the M777.

And considering the amount of single round accuracy we've seen slamming into multi-million vehicles an excellent return on investment.

The UA seems to be doing pretty well with the cheap 155 mm dumb rounds. But even justifying the cost of the expensive guided rounds, there is something to be said for a nearly assured hit on target. Fire 2 laser guided rounds within a minute. Hit the enemy ammo dump and HQ and then quickly get the hell out. Not a bad day's work.

The slience from the rest is damning.... when reality hits you in the face.

Why send an attachment that most people in the ground cant maintain or use. I agree

I love how he puts that smug moderator into her place. A very interesting video indeed.
Yeah it is hard reading into it, since we know that is state media. Are they prepping for a hard explanation to the population or looking at how the population would react?

Judging by the way that woman looks at the panelist, I'd say they weren't expecting him to be so frank. But once they'd missed their cue, they couldn't just cut him off. It'd have given even more credence to what he was saying.

This is not the first time he shreds the propaganda. So they knew and invited him anyways. Something is happening and Putin's line can be challenged.
