August 1989. Aircraft carrier Dédalo (former USS Cabot (CVL-28)) arrives at New Orleans to be converted into a museum ship in by recently established Cabot-Dedalo Museum Foundation.

The Museum Foundation ultimately failed to secure the sufficient funds, the ship was arrested and scrapped in early 2000s.

English wiki (and other English sources) say she was the Type C escort CD-7. Chinese and Japanese wiki however say she was the Etorofu-class escort Manju.

She served as the flagship of the PLAN's South Sea Fleet, and was eventually decommissioned in 1979. Surprisingly, not even the last ex-IJN vessel to be decommissioned by the PLAN.

The P class were repeats of the O class, armed entirely with 4 inch guns, in high-angle mounts fitted with a new tall design of shield which did not require the ships to lose a set of torpedo tubes to take on further AA guns. Panther was bombed and sunk by German Junkers Ju 87 'Stuka' aircraft in Scarpanto Strait on 10 September 1943 with 33 dead.

Barfleur was the only ship of the class to see action during the Second World War. She joined the British Pacific Fleet upon commission, seeing action during the campaign against Japan.
