USN:
USS Tennessee (BB-43) makes a port call at Vancouver after winning gunnery contest among the units of the US Pacific Fleet. RMS Empress of Australia (former German liner Tirpitz) is in the background. Fall 1922.
Germany:
U-60 a Type IIC submarine, suspended from a crane at the Deutsche Werke shipyard in Kiel
Altafjord, 16 March 1944. Tirpitz starts the 2nd day of her extensive trials following 6 months out of action as a result of the British midget submarines' attack on 22 September 1943.
U-250 in a drydock in Kronstadt, September 1944, raised by the Soviets for examination after being sunk on its first patrol in July. Navigational charts and cipher codes were recovered, but the most valuable trophy was the electric, acoustic-homing torpedo G7es (T5) Zaunkönig.
Type XXI U-boat production, Section 8 being loaded on special pontoons at the Danziger Werft, to be transported to the nearby Schichau Shipyard, circa 1944-45. Sections 2, 3, and 1 are already loaded. The pontoons appear to be made from pressure hulls for type VII U-boats.
RN & USN:
The Grand Fleet, including vessels of the USN 6th Battle Squadron, in review to greet King George V and his son the Prince of Wales. His Majesty will pay visits to HMS Queen Elizabeth and USS New York (BB-34). July 1918.
