Those aren't special forces, though. They're members of a BFE (Beweissicherungs- und Festnahmeeinheit, roughly "raids unit"), perhaps best described as an equivalent to Britain's armed police. They're detachments of barracked police normally used for riot control, having received the additional capability of conducting raids and making arrests that don't require a full-time SWAT team (SEK in German ) just yet.
