Two months after an attack worse than 9/11, with over a hundred Americans still held hostage in underground dungeons, being starved and tortured, nobody anywhere would blink an eye if Washington ordered a bombing that led to the assassination of some of the masterminds of the attack.

And yet after a drone strike yesterday that took out Saleh al-Arouri, the deputy chairman of Hamas’ political bureau and the commander of the group’s military wing, the United States was quietly distancing itself from the bombing in off the record conversations with the media.

Barak Ravid reported, “Two US officials told Axios [that] Israel was behind Tuesday’s strike but stressed it didn’t notify the Biden administration in advance of the attack.” Joseph Haboush, Washington Correspondent for the leading Arab news site Al Arabiya reported that “US officials were not given prior notice by Israel about its operation to take out Hamas official Saleh al-Arouri in Beirut, but they cautioned against concluding that the assassination would further escalate tensions between Lebanon and Israel.”

Richard Goldberg, a senior advisor for the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD) fumed on X that “Israel just killed one of the major architects of October 7. The White House response is a rush to deny any involvement and leak that it advised against such a strike. What a terrible look. No one suspects the US carried it out, but most shocked to learn of disapproval.

Due to his long history of terror, the United States had a $5 million bounty on Arouri’s head and marked him as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist” in 2015. It’s strange, then, that the Biden administration isn’t exactly sending thank you notes to the Israelis for taking him out.

The attacks of October 7 were truly international, taking the lives of foreign nationals including Americans and dual Israeli-American citizens. Over thirty Americans were killed – just last week, we learned of the deaths of two more who had been presumed taken hostage. Following the announcements of the deaths of Gad Haggai and his wife Judy Weinstein Haggai, Biden tweeted he was “devastated” by the loss, continuing that “we will not stop working to bring them home.”

So what does that work entail? There are still six American citizens being held in underground tunnels, starved and tortured by Hamas terrorists for almost three months and counting. One has to wonder what exactly the United States is planning on doing about it, if not supporting the actions of the IDF in their attempts to safely recover hostages.

On New Year’s Day, Rachel Goldberg created a video asking her family’s supporters to make a resolution to call the White House every day about her captive son Hersh Goldberg-Polin. The Jewish State can’t expect total support from the American government on all of its military strategic decisions, but Americans should expect total support from their government about their own citizens held hostage.

We aren’t even three months after the attack that took more Jewish lives than any day since the Holocaust, and we’re already seeing the limits of the United States’ patience with the Jewish State’s war on those who were responsible. Unfortunately for Israel, the United States was one of the most patient countries in the world at the outset.

If Biden refuses to show moral leadership, we may witness the same backsliding in the US as was visible from the Spanish and Belgian governments in late Novemeber. Holding a press conference at the Rafah Crossing minutes before the appearance of thirteen hostages, Prime Ministers Alexander De Croo and Pedro Sánchez demanded a permanent ceasefire while drawing attention to the entry of aid trucks into Gaza.

Despite the fact that Belgium and Spain took no part in talks for the hostages’ release, they inserted themselves into the situation minutes before the exchange was about to take place, risking the entire transfer. Their contemptible bid for attention was more important to them than the safe return of over a dozen hostages. The wider world may have moved on from this stunt – but it’s one that Israelis will never forget.

The increasing impatience of the Biden administration, compounded by international hostility towards the Jewish State, is an important reminder of why exactly Israel exists in the first place. As international conflict sparks around the globe, it will be easy for those in the State Department and media to turn their attention elsewhere. But Israel, as always, has no choice but to continue their fight.

I didn't know. Well, if they don't have the guts to send any thanks, perhaps they could allocate that bounty to the IDF? That would be fair, IMO.

Americans getting abducted and murdered? China Joe is jealous of the terrorists freedom fighters! If only he could have the Reapers take out Republicans, the actual terrorists, instead of having to mess around with the FBI, CIA, NSA, DIA, CID etc etc etc.

Joe isn't abandoning Israel. He never had Israel's back to begin with.

It is yet another foreign-policy fumble for his "Administration"/stewardship.

Afghanistan, Ukraine, the US, Israel... aren't we glad the adults are back, huh?

Dammit where is Maridonious when you need him.....Can anyone explain why evil dude 1 is now capping evil dude 2? How will Disney know which evil dude needs to be a straight white male?

Hope she packed her m4….

Regarding my friend from the western USA going to the ME during this October 7th event and aftermath:

Actually, she had planned the trip way prior to the attack and was already in route when it happened.

And.... She's a Kumbaya type. Respect her and she has the globetrotter technique down pat, but I don't think I would have done it!

this wasnt your normal suicide attack..... the timing of the bombing is a message to iran....that if they dont stop their sh*t....isis will be redirected towards iran ... i think in the next few weeks/months we will be seeing similar explosions if iran doesnt dial down on their shenanigans

What do you mean? There was no signal here. ISIS is perfectly okay with the chaos and death which Iran brings to the region. It's just that they hate Shiites. They hate them even more than they do Jews and Christians. In their world view, Shiites are heretics and deserve only death. From their point of view, why would they let a perfectly good assembly of thousands of Shiitic civilians go to waste?

Therer's what Hizbullah say, and there's what Hizbullah do. That may be different things. According to Mr Naftali on Telegram :

Report: Hezbollah has withdrawn its TERRORISTS from the Israeli border by two to three kilometers.
:p
