Exercise Rhino Run wraps up with a 24-hour display of combat power by 7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, 1st Armoured Regiment - Australian Army and 1st Combat Engineer Regiment.
20 trainees from 8/7 RVR and her sister battalion 5/6 RVR (Royal Victorian Regiment) completed their infantry initial employment training (IETs). During the field phase of the course, trainees completed platoon level offensive, defensive and security operations, culminating in a 10km pack march.

The past weekend saw the battalion back at Puckapunyal for live fire training as part of Exercise KOKODA.
The main effort was the section live fire range which saw soldiers engage moving targets with rifles, machine guns and rocket launchers. Soldiers conducted live fire serials both during the day and night from dug in positions.
The VCRR 2136 train rolls through Oxnard on its way to Port Hueneme to deliver a cargo of 27 Abrams tanks. These tanks are the Australian version of the M1A2 SEPv3 that are about to be handed over to the Australian Army. Notice that unique AusCam and the red kangaroo insignia.
