Soldiers from 1 RAR's Recon Sniper Platoon and Direct Fire Support Weapons Platoon conducted an air mobile live-fire raid, supported by 5th Aviation Regiment. The training involved a combat team tactical activity, assessing readiness in the lead up to Exercise Brolga Run

Last year, soldiers from the 1st Brigade deployed to the United Kingdom for the first four rotations of Operation Kudu, joining partner nations for the UK-led and based training program for Ukrainian recruits.
The contingent provided critical training to Ukrainian Armed Forces recruits to support their national defence following Russia’s illegal invasion.
The 1st Brigade proudly supported Operation KUDU until handing over to the 9th Brigade in early 2024.

Bay class landing ship (ex RFA Largs Bay) HMAS Choules (L100) recently set sail off the coast of Queensland to engage in simulated live training.
Choules also conducted flying operations with the Australian Army CH-47 Chinooks to maintain her ability to respond to events such as Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief (HADR).
