8th/12th Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery (8/12 REGT) and 5th Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR) have been perfecting their littoral operations.
The two 1st Brigade units embarked on a series of patrols, traversing the Kimberley's intricate waterways in Zodiac small watercraft.
Their objective: to detect and deter any unlawful activities occurring under the cover of night.
8/12 REGT and 5RAR are joint forces on Operation Resolute to combat illegal activities in the Kimberley Marine Park.

The 1st Armoured Regiment had a great few weeks training in Cultana on Exercise Paratus Walk 24. Post the courses camp period the Regiment worked up from individual vehicle live fire to troop level live fire and manoeuvre. The exercise culminated with the conduct of Paratus Cup 2024 with the troop competition occurring over a testing 72hrs.
Troops were tested and ranked in their ability to conduct a number of tactical tasks including ambushes, securing key terrain, and advance to, and in, contact.
