On 17 July 1951 during a patrol of the Chinnampo harbour the HMNZ Rotoiti carried out a ground attack on an enemy gun position at Sogon-Ni Point. An assault party of 14 men, supported by gunfire from the ship, landed and took two enemy soldiers prisoner.

Boeing RB-29A Superfortress (s/n 44-61727) from the 91st Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron over Korea. This aircraft was shot down by MiG-15s, possibly over China or the extreme northern part of Korea on July 4, 1952.
