Step 1. cover the floor in oil
Step 2. wait for the looters to fall in the oil
Step 3. splash them with water
Step 4. watch them float to the ceiling
Step 5. leave them there for eternity

That's really bad. Depending upon the damage, it can take months or even years to repair/rebuild/build a new power plant. These people will be without electricity and all of the things that it brings, such as refrigeration and clean water, for that time if there isn't enough redundancy to fill in the gap.

Meh... let socialism work its magic.

In case anyone is interested in African politics and was following the case against Zuma can you please provide quick summary on what were the charges against him?

I would nt say it's exactly socialism Ivan . Looks more like a bunch of desperate people who don't really have much . Past the big ticket items ( TVs , washing machines etc ) plenty seem to be helping themselves to food . As ever the bigger the gap between rich and poor the more crime we see , the smaller the gap then crime generally decreases .

I'm not being an apologist for the behaviour we are seeing , merely pointing out the lopsided economy that creates a situation we are seeing . If I were to guess , when South Africa became a fully fledged democracy the back majority dutifully voted in their representatives who then proceeded to line their own pockets and sell the black masses down the river . 25 or so years after apartheid their no better off .

This is supposed to be punishment for looting.
