Personally, I find drug abuse and flamboyant fashion styles tedious and obnoxious; other than that, I don't care much about Johnny Depp and haven't watched any of his movies except Pirates 1 and 4. As for Amber Heard, I'd only known her name. I stumbled upon footage from this trial on YouTube, apparently being already conditioned to "believe women" as I genuinely expected that weirdo to come out as guilty.

But after a while, he struck me as dysfunctional rather than terrible – unlike Heard, who with her arrogance and self-righteousness must be an immense pain to be around. It takes a special kind of dirtbag to sit there and tell a jury that they're stupid and sexist if they give credence to a dozen witnesses rather than her. Anyways, it's nuts the media say Heard was wronged and how the "sexist" jury allegedly threw all women under the bus.

The trial proved that Heard tampered with evidence and lied multiple times before and during the proceedings. More importantly, she's on tape admitting to hitting her spouse, belittling him for being "a baby about it" and mockingly daring him to tell the world and see if they'd believe him or her. It beggars belief that after so clear-cut a confession, a trial was needed to set the record straight concerning her statements about Heard.

I think this trial was very necessary to remind the public of the high good that is the presumption of innocence, which is why I'm glad about its outcome. "Believe women", my arse. How about "believe the truth without distinction of person".

Her description of the alleged injuries she suffered of the result of some of JD's most violent attacks were also "peculiarly" gruesome.
Being raped with a whiskey bottle, dragged on broken glass, beaten in the face repeatedly JD rings-covered hands, etc... these leaves traces.

And yet? Nothing. No pictures, no documentation, not even medical reports.
Why? Because JD is a far-reaching, powerful man surrounded with "yes-people" and fanatics followers.

Hell, she couldn't even act while on the stand.

But though JD's likeability assuredly played in his favor, be through the various witnesses who testifies on his behalf or while on the stand (which probably got bolstered by his acting talents), it also showed that a good cause like #metoo can easily be co-opted by unscrupulous and vicious individuals looking for personal gains. Be them in term of notoriety or direct financial gains (in which case I am more thinking about BLM Nigerian scam 50.0).

It also showed burden of proof still is a thing and jury trials work (at least to some extent).

There is always the CVE there and it quickly surfaces when you can only count to potato as you start with easy tasks and calculations and work your way up.

None of them will ever see FEM calculations up close.

Nor become a senior engineer in a good managed company.

Its just a piece of paper what they get if they start to erode the content of the studies.

Afterwards they then complain they can't earn decent money despite of "academic" education.

I'd like to say that you're correct, but unfortunately I've seen grossly incompetent people with significant criminal convictions hired into an engineering department of a highly regulated industry just to make certain quotas. The convictions were significant enough to require a waiver so they could be hired. And yes, the outcome was as expected, complete with recalls. You are correct that they won't do calcs or FEA. That all gets kicked over to me because they can't do it.

One of them actually is now in the aviation industry. He went there after he left our industry.
