Which is a pity because what they should of been doing is teaching them how to use a pen properly, the state of some of the young guys hand writting at work is appalling and it does seem to be an age thing.

Seems to be going the other way in Romania, head of one of the biggest teachers union wants extra cash for teachers because their members are being exposed to harmful radiation from computers, laptops, and tablets which they are being forced to use during the pandemic!!

There is a brilliant AI education company here in NZ( Amy.app ) that effectively supersedes and largely replaces math teachers for the majority of students(non exceptional outliers high/low)
The teachers are still kept in the loop, for now.
Good thru great teachers are desperately needed.
But the bottom 50% will need to find new jobs eventually.
The top 1-5% of teachers(rockstar teachers) will do even better in the future due to online distribution channels.

It's such a moronic new trend; it ranks right up there with banning grades so pupils don't have to feel "inadequate". Heck, even participation trophies make more sense than that. "At least you showed up and tried!" is way more productive a thing to say to a kid than: "Yes, it's cruel forcing you to face your own inadequacy".

sorta off topic question here.... was recently forced to attended a bias/diversity training session, and during one groupthink exercise they showed pics of different people one of which was huang wenzai, another was bernardine dohrn. I thought it was VERY interesting that of the 4 or so people they showed us, one was a leftist terrorist, and another was a chinese communist billionaire... my question, which which was not solved by googling, is who exactly is huang wenzai? I could find very little info.

How about not censoring anything? Rather than censoring deplorable religious teachings we ought to fight against the people who would impose those teachings on the rest of us. And there comes the onion now, doesn't it? The proponents of implementing the Old Testament into law I can count by a single hand.
The proponents of making the Quran the law of the land, meanwhile... well, they run several countries and are poised to pick up a few more. I'm sorry, but I cannot abide these pseudo-arguments "but what about muh christian bigots." Yes, they exist, but unlike islamists they are few in number and have no clout to speak of. Just look at what recently happened in Britain again. A teacher showed Mohammed cartoons to a class and a mob of outraged muslims immediately besieged the school, the school then had an apology read out by the police! But by all means let us all keep voting for the same bunch of feckless @ssholes who won't hesitate to sell us out to muslim radicals, China and whoever else has an anti-western agenda. Steinmeier won't bat an eye if another person gets beheaded or traumatised for life, no he'll probably send his congratulations via telegram.

My post was meant to express my disapproval of censoring anything that is deemed inconvenient by the powers that be. Maybe I should have written something like "I'm wondering why the Bible has not yet been censored by some eager PC editors because reasons ..."

I would have walked out of this nonsense, but I got it right when your wrote « forced to » and it was work related. I feel your pain, have had several coworkers in the past go and rant about social injustice or racism during some similar session. I was annoyed and it showed maybe, but I wouldn’t want to be identified as the bigot of the workplace.
There are countless success stories of Blacks, Chinese, Iranians, Arabs all around the west or in developing nations and they didn’t all start off or were born with a silver spoon up their butts.
Incidentally plenty of white people are complete trash that have or will most likely never work a day in their lives, too and make numerous stay in jail or the asylums.
« Race », racial sentiments and racism debates have gone too far recently, all because some black people get killed, sometimes wrongly at the hand of the police. Don’t get me started on that other nonsense that whiteys are all descendants of the slaves owners crackers.

Over here, many millions have been wasted on "essential artists" as well, particularly by leftist city governments. It's the height of degeneracy. Even if you're a world-class soprano, your services are not "essential". The world will be able to make do for a year without the opportunity to pay for the privilege of listening to your marvellous voice.
However, if you're merely a mostly self-declared artist who strong-arms local councils into public contracts for exceedingly forgettable sculptures, you have no business comparing yourself to hard-working nurses and grocery cashiers. What's even more annoying to me is how those types seem to think it's beneath them to seek unemployment benefits.
In Germany, artists of all stripes and colours have begun to refer to themselves as kulturschaffende, which (roughly) translates to "shapers of culture". No microphone is safe from their portentous rhetorical questions anymore: "What does it say about our country if the shapers of culture have to eke out a living with social benefits?" Why, how is that different from the status quo?
What I'm trying to say is, perhaps I'd be more appreciative of their situation if I didn't know how bloated the heavily subsidised art scene truly has become (particularly in the inner cities). The truth is, I couldn't care less if your market for "feminist paintings" produced with menstrual blood is crumbling. Now kindly pull your socks up and swallow the same bitter pill which the rest of us is being fed.
