do you know what the threshold of response is for Russia to use tactical nuclear weapons? under what conditions would Russia respond with strategic nuclear weapons?

1. If Russia is crazy enough (they aren't) to use nukes in response to their failed attempt at aggression is better to put the dog down now. Or would you prefer to kowtow to it? Better to live on your knees than die on your feet?

2. Using nukes is not done by pressing a comical red button (im sure you are aware, just pointing it out) thus even if Putin would be ready to use them that does not mean others would be in the chain of command since nothing is to be won by using them.

3. Too bad western countries never make these threats, so many seem to believe them and makes you wonder if trump being president still would be a good thing and this all would have been avoided (referring to the trump quote that implies that he threatened putin with nukes if he invades UKR)

You know, I have wondered about this particular claim, counter-claim cloud of brown mist.

Is it possible that this stems from a Ukrainian long range attack very early on that struck an airfield inside Russia? Do you remember that?

Is it possible they caught IL76 on the ground here? And that generated the nugget which evolved into these stories.

Because the only other way I can feature multiple IL76 going down at that time and not being found yet is if it went into the water.

No, it was over a few days.

One day, when the Ghost of Kyiv was still a thing, at the very beginning of the invasion, one or two got "shot down".
Then a few days later another three. And it was clearly stipulated they had been shot down.

That being said, there were reports, or at least pictures, of Ukrainian counter-attacks on, or shelling against, aerodromes/airports under Russian control. Pictures, taken from a distance, that showed, or at least on which you could see, tails of Il76 and smoke.
Though the pictures didn't show if the smoke came from the Il76 and/or how close to the Il76 the smoke was.

The pictures may have been posted, can't remember.

Now, could it be possible for such a thing to have happened? Sure. Planes can get destroyed by artillery fire while sitting idle on the tarmac.

But I suppose, considering how prone Ukrainians are to show proof of Russian hardware being destroyed, there would have been footage or even bad pictures of it.

It was considered a wacky conspiracy theory until Nuland's comments. We don't know what those labs are. Could be nothing, could be something. Nuland's comments seemed concerning, though. But let's not forget she is also a swamp creature who was part of the Ukrainian color revolution.

Less than 24 hours ago, they bombed the crap outa UA training joint, less than 100 miles from Polish border !

I flew on Aeroflot in 2014 coming back from Japan. Much better airline than anticipated or advertised. A330 neat and clean, professional crew.

I guess when they run out of parts, they'll have to roll out some IL 62' s that could'nt reach Cuba without stopping in Gander for fuel. Memory lane for the Russians...this is what communism was capable of manufacturing.

The Netherlands (both government and semi-government) funds research (including biological/medical) in the US because there are more specialized labs and personnel there and less regulation. Some of this involves potentially harmful material. I imagine the same is true for many countries all over the world. If there really are 25 labs in Ukraine is it just a complete coincidence that they all happen to lay in territory not under the control of the Russians?

If you're going to set up labs like that logic dictates that you're not going to do it in the country neighbouring and already in a state of low intensity warfare with one of your two biggest rivals. A nation who has a leader known for going ballistic whenever it suits him. You do it in some puppet regime you're propping up in the middle east or Africa.

Gents honestly its only the US team that are running with this. We dont follow all the subtleties of your politics, but it does appear some of your people will say anything, even in wartime, to score some points off the opposition.

If it's negative news or can be twisted in a negative way it's true, if it's positive news it must be fake news. The Republicans are doing the things that the Democrats were doing during Trump's presidency.

Look at the list of the UN vote to see where Russian carriers can fly to without having their aircraft impounded for sure.
