Now that's an interesting picture to think about. The first is the mud. It can be advanced, but tankers are the predictables, gobbling up fuel, The TOS Buratino has only recently emerged, on the battlefield, in what might be called the more elite 'strike units.
One more question: can this be used to make an IED?
Let's just say that if I were on the crew of this piece of S**t right now and I was stuck in the mud in Ukraine I would get the hell out of there as fast as I could. I'd have about as much chance of being captured as a flamethrower on my back in a world war.

I'm wondering though who is going to restock the supermarkets in those occupied cities, and where will the occupants go "shopping" when everything is empty?

I've also heard reports that the Russians don't have enough supply trucks.

Exactly, this video was posted on the second day of the invasion. It's the 6th today.
That's what I thought, because that location looks identical to the one from the video with silver tape.
I've also heard reports that the Russians don't have enough supply trucks.

Meanwhile Ukranian troops in Kiev receive so much food from civilians that they don't know what to do with it.

The thing is, the Russians don’t use any close air support aviation or fighters, just cruise missiles and SRBMs.
The Ukrainians could attack Russian helicopters until Russian fighters get involved. I don’t know how these ex-Polish fighters will be able to operate, as all Ukrainian airbases are either destroyed or heavily damaged. If some of them are made operational again, the Russians will spot it plus the fighters and fvck them up again with Kalibrs and Iskanders.
I know that NATO will be sharing intel again and pick vulnerable targets for these fighters, but hiding them will be a problem.
I have to say, prior to Putin's war, these Mig's were worth about half a mil, as spares.....nice deal.....its about what they are worth, not what they cost.....

I am certain those red buttons on Putin's side control trap doors or ejection seats or something on the other side of the table.
Steel shutter, and gas, comes down just after his desk, look closely, you can see the gap in the desk.....

A post from our Facebok group.
A few days ago, rightly made the admin revelation that our pro-war and InterPutinist colleagues should leave before that happens anyway. And it happened.
The handful of Putinists who are pissed off at the half-naked face of Vozsgy and the size of his missiles and stayed behind have chosen a new tactic. There are endless streams of commentary on the Ukrainian shaming, because they're not about the war, just... They're just parroting a topos of Russian propaganda. I, as a native of Transcarpathia, who to this day travels a lot, not only in Transcarpathia, but also in Kiev, Dnipro, Odessa etc., I know how much bullshit this is, but after a while I give up arguing because I have no stomach for it.
Thank you for your attention

I know, but they can be quickly attacked with cruise missiles and SRBMs again.
its never ending circle, I would say, in GW1 we managed to supress the Iraqi AF, but we had 100's or even 1000's of aircraft. Russia actually has the aircraft, but not the will, nor I suspect the skill. And you can hide a Mig29 in any factory, underpass etc. And they probably only want 2 weeks worth of air power.

Are Mig-29s like some other fighters such as the Grippen and designed to use less than ideal airfields, or do they require high quality airfields? I know very little about aircraft, especially modern ones.
Probably already answered, but Mig29 can handle fairly rough, so a road would be ok.

The starting point is: "Russia unilaterally attacked its neighbour because the latter, instead of Moscow, was moving towards the West, seeing the European Union and NATO as the basis of its prosperity and national security. The people of Ukraine persecuted the Yanukovych regime because the latter did not sign the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement under Russian pressure. The Kremlin immediately offered Yanukovych a USD 15 billion credit line after the EU's offer was rejected, and was also willing to reduce the price of gas supplied to Ukraine. Since Yanukovych's departure, the Ukrainian people have had their say on who should lead their country in two consecutive elections that the OSCE election observers have described as mostly free and fair. And although Ukraine still faces many democratic problems and extremist elements have sometimes tried to influence the political situation, it was not "Nazis" who dictated the political agenda in Kiev: the far-right bloc managed to collect 2.15 percent of the vote in the 2019 parliamentary elections. And President Zelensky, who has been criticised by Ukrainian nationalists and supporters of former President Poroshenko for being too conciliatory towards Russia, is of Jewish origin. There is no evidence that there was genocide in Ukraine after Majdan, nor is there any mention of this by bodies monitoring the conflict, such as the OSCE or the UN Human Rights Office. There were, of course, civilian casualties, partly because, as the OSCE's daily reports have pointed out, neither side fully respected the Minsk agreements. Russia, on the other hand, given that no one in today's world welcomes unilateral aggression, is doing its utmost to portray Ukraine as a Nazi genocidal state, which justified the attack. "

Pro-Kremlin propaganda across Europe tries to convince the public that the West, especially NATO and the United States, and Ukraine, specifically the aforementioned alleged genocidal Nazi regime, are responsible for the escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Persuasion is not the best word, of course: the Kremlin's aim may be more to sow the seeds of the idea that Russia is not solely to blame. These efforts were further intensified after the Kremlin unilaterally attacked Ukraine. Not only RT or Sputnik International, but also the columns of the Hungarian pro-Kremlin alternative media are full of claims that Russia is only protecting the people of Donbass, that Ukrainian defectors alone have entered Ukraine, or that Moscow wanted to stop the genocide in Ukraine. All this, of course, with a war that avoids civilians by far. The latter would be especially nice if there were not already at least 102 civilian deaths (as of 28.02.2009) from Russia's war, and if the Internet were not full of authentic pictures of destroyed Ukrainian housing estates.

The International Energy Agency announced it would open its strategic oil reserves to buffer the massive increase in oil prices due to the Ukraine war. The member countries will release a total of 60 million barrels of crude oil out of their 1.5 Bln barrels in stock.

This is quite interesting to me: (Source)

German leftist icon Gregor Gysi, a popular politician and hitherto pro-Russian former civil rights lawyer from East Germany, has sharply attacked his party in an open letter after 'The Left' had accused NATO of being "substantially responsible" for the War in Ukraine and voted against a bi-partisan resolution against Russia in parliament. Gysi, usually a staunch critic of NATO, undertook an about-face as dramatic as Germany's government had last week when it announced it would triple defence spending in 2022 and ship weapons into an active war zone for the first time.

Addressing his fellow parliamentarians directly, Gysi accused them of being "completely indifferent to this war of aggression, the dead, the injuries and the human suffering". Millions of people, he wrote, were deeply moved and hundreds of thousands took to the streets to protest against the injustice. "You, on the other hand, only care about protecting your outdated ideology in every way: NATO is evil, America is evil, the German government is evil, and that's the end of it as far as you're concerned". Like them, Gysi insisted, he also cared "deeply" about international law and was also a critic of NATO. In this case, however, the alliance "made not a single mistake" and "did nothing to justify this war".

"Do we not have to reflect on ourselves and perceive [February 24] as a turning point", Gysi mused, obviously a rhetorical question as he went on to say: "Putin has invalidated our position against an eastward expansion of Nato – which is something you lot fail to recognise – insofar as he would not have attacked Ukraine if it had been a member of Nato". Gysi, who'd encouraged 'The Left' to carry the resolution, said that in response, he would have to "reconsider my role in this party". "I'm absolutely appalled by your statement and wanted to let you know that", the letter ended.

– Hell has just frozen over. We're in the year 2022, in the most polarised state the West has been in many decades, and someone allowed facts to sway his opinion. A fierce socialist, no less, who once lobbied to have NATO secretary-general Javier Solana arrested for war crimes! This is a huge deal for Germany's left, as Gysi is immensely popular around here. He's an icon. For reference, Gysi is like Germany's Bernie Sanders. I'm posivitely surprised. Usually I strongly disagree with Gysi's politics, but I can absolutely see why so many people respect and even admire him.
is he mates with the 12 Labour party MP's who signed a letter saying NATO needed to be disbanded........

In other economic news, Nord Stream AG, the operator of the new Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline between Germany and Russia has filed for bankruptcy at its headquarters in Zug, Switzerland and fired all employees. While Russia is officially still pumping gas to Europe, this project may have failed on a grand scale. Maybe the pipeline can be revived when this shi1tshow is over.

I don't know how close he is with them, but I found a bunch of events and other open letters where Gysi and folks like Diane Abbott, John McDonnell, Richard Burgon, Zarah Sultana and others are on the same list of subscribers.
