What on earth does Putin even mean by "denazification"? Isn't it weird the Russians bothered to specify most of their demands to some extent but not this? What did those envoys tell the Ukrainians, I wonder? "Denazification" – the term could easily entail anything from handing out questionnaires 1945-style to lining people up against a wall. Oh my word. I kinda feel trolled by Putin. He's arguably the most fascist incumbent head of state yet still he spends his days raving on how he'll rid Ukraine of fascism. Wait a moment, does this mean he aims to rid Ukraine of himself?
I have no idea what Putin means and/or would imply.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the "most prominent" nazi "component" of Ukraine would be Azov.
So, considering how Azov operates, is allowed to operate, is funded, and so on... one could eventually posit that "if such an organization, with such a reprehensible ideology, is allowed to operate and, seemingly, to do so with the approval and blessing of the government, couldn't it imply the government shares, to some extents that should be defined, them as well?"
I do realize it sounds like "guilt by association", but I am not suggesting "because Azov is a neo-nazi paramilitary organization, therefore so is the government". But the question, in my opinion deserves to be asked.
I also know one of the counter argument is "come on! Zelinsky is a Jew!". Yet Azov also claims Putin is a Jew, and one of the prominent figure of Wagner has SS tattoos all over his chest. Which would be a fallacy, also in my opinion, of mistaking the individual for the group (Wagner) and the group for the individual (Azov).
The point being; maybe by considering the existence of Azov, how it has been allowed to exist and operate for 8 years, despite their clearly define neo-nazi ideology, Putin assumed the tolerance for such ideology in Ukraine was such that is represented a more "metastasized" issue.
Not saying that the case, just an hypothesis.
