It's a lot deeper and sophisticated move than that......

1. calms everyone's nerves
2. pre-war political bardak collapses under its own weight - why waste resource.
3. Zelensky is effectively set in crazy-ass twist of a bind now - he can't just accept Putin's recognition of his, neither can he continue to fight.
4. He could pack up and leave - and it Won't be Putin's fault.

The last definition pretty much describes the 1st 3 !
More like

1. Putin has failed in his attempt to kill him or his family
2. He has failed in his attempt to make him look like a Nazi - in fact, it has rebounded on Putin
3. The Russian army has failed to take any major city in how many days now?
4. Russia strong mob are now hiding behind nuclear weapons as your army has failed once it met decent tactics and western anti tank and anti-aircraft weapons (Turkish drones seem to be messing with you as well)
5. Putin's family are reputedly now heading for a nuclear bunker in Siberia - so you are not all in this together are U

Sad thing is that a lot of Russian and Ukrainians are going to die for one weasel's(Putin) vanity - sooner someone poison's him or puts a bullet in him, the better

NB he might need to get a bigger table:rolleyes:

Given the size of his current table I would discourage the use of a briefcase bomb. Didn't work with Adolf either.

I disagree @muck for three reasons:

1) we need comedy material
2) as outrageous as this is, we need to hear their own propaganda
3) some people actually believe this. shutting down their media will only confirm in them their insane opinion

Only after some years will people learn to take what comes from these websites, blogs, observers, street journalists and what not with some caution.
I agree with Telmar. keep posting. censorship is never a good thing. its not like one of us is going to be converted,

A dangerous thing is what will Putin do when cornered? He already threatened nukes, after 3 days or so. What a hapless clown..

It looks like the hall was pretty empty from the beginning as if nobody really was interested at all in what he had to say.

All we know is that 6 500 anti-war protesters have already been arrested in the Russian Federation, the ruble is steadily approaching the centre of the earth, and not only has the Russian central bank taken unprecedented measures to counter this - raising the base rate to 20% - but President Putin is also trying to curb the inflation and buying fever by decree:

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the application of special economic measures "in connection with the unfriendly actions of the United States and foreign states and international organisations associated with them". The text of the document was published on the Kremlin website.

Among other things, from 1 March, residents of Russia will not be able to:

- Credit foreign currency to their accounts and deposits opened with foreign banks and financial institutions;

- make transfers of funds to foreign payment service providers using electronic payment instruments (without opening a bank account)

- transfer foreign currency to non-Russian residents under loan agreements." (Meduza.io)

It could get worse, according to Nikolai Arefiyev, a Duma deputy of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF):

"If they block all money abroad, the government will have no choice but to seize the population's deposits to get out of the economic crisis."

This also includes the government's decision just a few minutes ago that Western companies and investors cannot sell their stakes in Russian companies. This was justified on the grounds that they feared their business partners "might make the wrong decision under political pressure".
