The UK MoD recently declared Russian dead/wounded surpassed 700,000. I thought 100K and 200K were obscene numbers. Over the last almost 3 years, many of our colleagues on this board have noted (and I paraphrase here) that high casualty rates are not necessarily considered unacceptable to the average Russian citizen. Accordingly, I too have come to the conclusion that they are correct, though it is still hard to fathom. 700,000. Wow.

I'm guessing that Trump will try to force Europeans to buy more US weapons to give to Ukraine instead of the US taxpayer paying for them. The main emphasis is always on the unbalanced contribution to NATO, so lowering cost and increasing domestic industrial output should address the issue without much difference in how f*cked russia is.

Which Europe will pay for, from Frozen Russian assets.

Or Vlad, we can make a deal.

Ukraine is going to want something back, in return for Kursk. Russia isnt going to give Crimea, so Donbass? Get anyone that wants to live in Russia to move out?

And then Ukraine - wants NATO membership. Cant have it if it doesnt agree to the loss of Crimea etc.

So Russia gets NATO on its doorstep. Which Vlad says he cant accept.

If I was Ukraine no way would I make peace without NATO or the right to build nukes.

Footage has been published of the evacuation of a Ukrainian armored vehicle, the American-made Cougar H, by Russian repair units. The Cougar H armored vehicle was damaged and abandoned in the Kursk region of Russia by Ukrainian units. The Cougar H armored vehicle is equipped with anti-mine protection capable of withstanding an explosion of 14 kg of TNT under any wheel or 7 kg of TNT under the hull. The Cougar 4x4 weighs from 14 to 17 tons, it can carry up to 6 people, including a crew of 2.

You know that a 12.7mm machine gun has limited firepower to fight armoured vehicles, while its ability to fight entrenched infantry is even worse.

Trump is a wildcard isn’t he? Anything’s possible.

We can only speculate on what he’s gonna do for Ukraine. Some scenarios are likely like @Fluff or @Picanha assumed.

He nonetheless stated enough that had he been in leadership of the US then in Feb 2022 Vlad wouldn’t have crossed the line, while going as far as « I’d have bombed Moscow » any of which is unlikely.

Now that the elder leaky poo Joe is going away soon, I’m not reassured by the supposed constructive phone call they made, according to the Kremlin as constructive means concession to the invaders.

They abandon the dead and wounded so it is pretty easy to get an accurate count. Has anyone seen a russian military ambulance or helicopter etc ? Like the above video describes with vehicles and armor you get a pretty good body count when one is destroyed. Supply trucks probably have one person so it is still pretty accurate. Troop transports can't hide casualty after being hit or disabled. I would say overall this high count is pretty accurate.
