What do you think of these Russian drones entering NATO airspace? A message to persuade us not to send more weapons? To test our response and AD? Just some desperate attempt at psyops?
Apparently Romanian Law as it stands prevents fire from being aimed at these drones.

ROE for use of war ammo i.e. ball ammo.

1. for training purposes.

2 to protect a military installation from direct attack.

3. Only manned aerial vehicles that violate Romanian airspace and engage in threatening combat moves can be directly targeted.

There is no law/regulation written with regards targeting drones/unmanned aerial vehicle's.

what are the laws on drones?

Deputise the pilots and get them down.

Also 'law' suggests Russia is going to invoke the 'law'

I very much doubt it, and NATO needs to grow a pair.

The'risk' is that these drones land on a school hosting the regional gathering of nuns. Need some soft capture kit.

Any new Law has to go through the Romanian Parliament first particularly as Romania is not at war with anybody and is actively supporting Ukraine.

Episode from the Ugledar direction. The video shows a Russian UAZ vehicle hitting a Ukrainian TM-62 anti-tank mine. Incredibly, everyone in the car survived.

Your missing the point, they cannot legally at this point in time, under Romanian Law open fire on an unmanned drone that violates Romanian airspace, remember what they shoot up must come down and if their use of ball ammo causes death, injury, destruction to Romanian lives or property or god forbid Ukrainian lives along the Romanian/Ukraine border.
Like it or not Romania has to follow the Law, they are after all a democracy.

If a drone reaches Romanian territory, then it has either gone off course or (let's hope not) the Orcs want it that way. In both cases, the drone could reach populated areas and kill or injure people. I'd rather shoot it down while the risk is still manageable. The border regions are usually not as densely populated as the inland areas. And even in a democracy, laws can be adapted and / or changed. Then you just have to do it now.
