Denmark's minister for integration Kaare Dybvad Bek has announced he will deport all Ukrainian refugees from 2025 onwards, potentially exempting those with a yearly income above 375.000 kr. The refugees would be needed for the reconstruction and defence of their homeland, Dybvad said, emphasising the measure was in Ukraine's best interests. Moreover, he hinted at integration issues as factoring into his decision. Ukrainians, he claimed, are too different from Danes and would have to learn many things first, like not to beat their children. (

What the hell?
I'm agreed that men of a military age need to be deported; conscription is no valid reason to grant asylum so long as deserters aren't threatened with capital punishment; and we even deported American soldiers back to their homeland when they requested asylum in these parts so as to evade deployment to Iraq (a war which many European countries considered illegal, I might add).
But seriously, what the hell? Was that racist, anti-Ukrainian undertone really necessary? I'm sure there are plenty of Danish parents who still beat their children, and nevermind the situation in Denmark's sizeable immigrant community.
