These Russian "successes" seem invented.

Would make sense in a propagandistic way to create an offensive where there is none and then repell it. Or blow things up disproportionally.

Pics or it didn't happen when Ukraine repelled attacks you could see the wrecks and corpses.

Easy goal to present to the Heimatfront.

Petraeus says the offensive will be "impressive".

Lets see fingers crossed. Hope they have long range stuff to destroy everything in the back once the front is breached nurturing further collapse and takes reinforcements away.

Getting accurately shelled 200 km behind the frontlines makes things complicated :)

I have an impression that the Russian front will collapse fast once breached.

You then need manoeuvre warfare to contain it.

Which Russia is bad at.

Speed and agility doesn't seem to be their strength.
I read about the lines of defensive of the russian and it looked very stable to be honest (i can sshare the link with you if you want).

I don't believe Ukies can gain a lot in a offensive... there is simply not enough tanks. I thing the success will be very limited. I hope I'm wrong.

If they don't keep their dogs in short leash, soon they will have "I am president Putin, leader of the Russian federation, I failed to give enough artillery ammunition to the Wagner PMC in a state of alcoholic intoxication due to personal hostility."
I genuinely think Prigoshin is making a bid for the presidency.

lets see, I dont rate the russians ability to defend nor react, to multiple Ukr attacks in different areas.

That would be nice thanks.

But I guess there is a way especially with modern means.

Ukrainians have equipment gaps for sure: large artillery weapons and ammo for huge artillery barrages, air support, tanks...

But they do seem to have a lot of tech that can help save ressources.

And russian incompetence and internal power struggles can do the rest.

Divide and conquer

Defeat in detail, or divide and conquer, is a military tactic of bringing a large portion of one's own force to bear on small enemy units in sequence, rather than engaging the bulk of the enemy force all at once. This exposes one's own units to many small risks but allows for the eventual destruction of an entire enemy force.

Hopefully this is what will mostly happen.

Making Russians decide if they want to keep Belgorod, Bakhmut or the south seems like a smart move. Losing ground in any of those would be a real slap in the face for Putin.

Yeah...OK. I don't know what to make if this...It looks like a parody war movie and you wait for Bill Murray to jump out ...

Fixed defences need covering fire, as the iraqi's found out, when their giant oil filled trench was breached in a couple of hours. With drones, himars etc, I cant see it holding. And russians built say 1000km, Ukraine needs to breach say 5km at a couple of points.
