Russia/Putin doesnt care about casualties
… an observation the gravity of which few seem to realise, even now. Even the most pro-Ukrainian voices amongst Ukraine's most empathic backers have yet to fully grasp the ugly truth: A regime that knowingly leads its own countrymen like lambs to the slaughter knows no bounds when it comes to how it treats its enemies.
I hope the UKR can dig in, and they slaughter the russian forces. Who knows maybe the russian people decide 100K dead is enough.....
They won't come to that decision. Russia's society is firmly in the grip of a veritable death cult. It's kind of understandable that a self-sacrifical service to one's country would be appraised by a nation that through the course of history was attacked by Alans, Mongols, Turks, Swedes, the French, Germans […], but the Russians have taken things to an extreme, which is further proof of their descent into fascism.

Good point. And one that we in the West really can't understand. But that is probably why even if something bad happens to Putin war will go on.

Putin getting whacked, and a more hardliner taking charge, with promises of victory, means we need to get more weapons to Ukraine.

The idea about attacking Odesa from sea is hyper idiotic. I don’t really understand where such analysts come from.
The retired Polish Army Chief of Staff I’ve mentioned before said the future Russian attack will be launched from the Belgorod area and everything else is just the maskirovka. The Russian troops in Belarus will just tie up the Ukrainian troops along the Belarusian border, so the latter won’t be able to move to north-east.

Why are some people here still thinking about "Russian people may soon have had enough." Ill say it again, Putin is just the voice of the Russian people. There will be no revolt or impending Collapse of Kremlin as it is doing what its people exactly wants.

If you want to stop Russia, arm Ukraine to kill as much of Russia as possible.

You dont negotiate with pests, you eliminate their nests. Think less "civilized nation" and more of a "roach infestation."

The Russian tactics is expected and traditional. Zhukov loved using penal battalions to clear German minefields by marching into them.
Wagnerites are trained for 6 weeks and thrown Into the meat grinder. Nobody trains them in medevac, as wounded Wagnerites aren’t evacuated, or communication, as there’s no need for communication. They carry out traditional reconnaissance with combat, attacking multiple points and commit more troops to the points where the Ukrainian resistance is the weakest. Then, Russian paratroopers join in and exploit the breakthrough. It’s typical and traditional Russian attrition tactics. The Ukrainians decided to commit strategic reserves, like the 46th Airmobile Brigade that was trained in the UK. That brigade committed 2 out of 5 battalions and they lost at least 30% of soldiers fighting in Soledar. So, the Ukrainians lose professional troops, while the Russians lose expendables. If the West doesn’t ramp up weapon deliveries to Ukraine and don’t send ATACMs to fvck up Russian logistics, Ukraine will be in a big trouble by the summer.
The American Bradleys and the German Marders are barely enough to equip one Ukrainian mechanised brigade, while there are 10 of them without any APCs and tanks. Russia is able to replace its lost equipment, while Ukraine isn’t without help from outside.

Regarding Barry Hussein’s comment about Russia, he was right. The USSR was the world’s second economy and it had the third-largest population. Russia is not even remotely close to that level.
I don’t think the West should allow to be terrorised or held by the balls by a country whose economy is smaller than the Spanish one or the Texan one.
If this sh1t is going to carry on, the Russians will get their colonies back and start using their population and resources to fvck the West up. There won’t be expendable Wagnerites, but expendable Ukrainians, Belarusians, Kazakhs, Tajiks, perhaps even Poles and Lithuanians.
Likewise, the Mongol Empire would not have expanded so much if it had not used Chinese soldiers, engineers and scientists, Korean sailors, non-Mongolic horse archers, etc.

The situation now is the same like 800 years ago. Russia’s territory is the former Mongol Empire and Putin Khan uses the same tactics; terror, blackmail, faithlessness, bribery and murdering civilians to discourage enemy soldiers from fighting.

An episode of the use by Russian military personnel in Ukraine of a gun against drones. Anti-drone weapons are reinforced with additional antennas with increased beam gain. After intercepting the drone of the Ukrainian army, the calculation immediately leaves so as not to fall under the blow of Ukrainian artillery.

152-mm self-propelled howitzer 2S3 "Acacia" of the Ukrainian army, came under attack from the Russian kamikaze drone "Lancet". The drone attack took place near Konstantinovka in the Ugledar direction. SAU 2S3 "Acacia" was damaged and was abandoned by the crew.

The calculation of the Russian 152-mm self-propelled guns "Msta-S" spoke about the tactics of using an artillery mount in Ukraine. The firing range of the Msta-S self-propelled guns with a conventional projectile is 25 km.

I think/hope the western leaders avoid such talk, simply to avoid Russia or even china of saying we caused it, plotted it, CIA, bay of pigs etc. This clusterfuck is Russia/putin's doing, and they need to own it.

As many have said, why should USA and the rest pay for a war in Ukraine, because for a few BN we are defeating Russia, instead of hundreds of BN and thousands of our own troops dead.

But they already say it. Its not like it goes away if we don't say it. Wasn't this the whole point of Russias "self defence"?

One can not step down to their logic because they lie and will constantly change goal posts.

They have only one target. Dominance, plundering and restoration of their lost empire. All their random arguments and whataboutisms only nurture this cause. Just ignore it they have made up what belongs to them and its not questioned.

Its pretty simple actually. The ones wanting "peacetalks" are moles tasked with delaying the enemy and using the old KGB confusion tactic.

They openly threaten to kill everyone. Whats to talk with them?

Alexei Zhuravlev threatens to kill Baerbock openly in Russian state TV.

But for Putin apologits it was probably the evil West which pushed Russia to act like a Nazi. There is no arguing with such a mindset.

Only massive amounts of modern weapons and ordnance can bring a satisfying solution.

The Swiss may decide to allow to re-export Swiss weapons by liberal and democratic countries in February:
That would be a welcome change.

1. He's not a Scholz loyalist. He's a member of the Seeheimer Kreis, the conservative wing of the Social Democrats. Scholz is not a conservative.
2. He's not called for sanctions to be lifted. In 2018, Pistorius suggested the sanctions could be lifted if Russia complied with the Minks Agreements. That was 5 years ago and he called it a mistake last March.
3. What the eff does it matter who that bloke boned before? Do you even use your brain before posting this stuff? Are political positions transferred mid-coitus in Portugal or whereever you're from?

If you care to inform yourselves about German domestic matters, pick a better source than one that is notoriously anti-German.

It is the unofficial sputnik of Polish government. PiS likes to do that, using "independent" media for propaganda that sooner or later is traced back to them.

Talking to a brick wall makes some people grumpy (the more you know). There's quite enough to criticise about the atrocity which the German Chancellor calls his Ukraine policy; there's no need to invent stuff. We've actually had this conversation about Visegrad24 a couple of times before, you know. Feel free to post whatever you want, but if you 1. continue to ignore the issues with that source previously pointed out to you and 2. continue to use it as a prop to hype yourself up, expect there to be some form of backlash. The vitriole of Visegrad24 is grist to the mill of the pro-Russian fraction within Germany, that's why I loathe it. Besides: One shouldn't have to point out to you how absurd it is to condemn a man on the account of him shagging another man's ex-wife. As far as propaganda goes, that's almost as laughable as those Russian news reports suggesting that Scholz had let Ukraine military aid on the account of his father being a Nazi (which he wasn't; Scholz' father was a preschooler when war broke out).
