… an observation the gravity of which few seem to realise, even now. Even the most pro-Ukrainian voices amongst Ukraine's most empathic backers have yet to fully grasp the ugly truth: A regime that knowingly leads its own countrymen like lambs to the slaughter knows no bounds when it comes to how it treats its enemies.
They won't come to that decision. Russia's society is firmly in the grip of a veritable death cult. It's kind of understandable that a self-sacrifical service to one's country would be appraised by a nation that through the course of history was attacked by Alans, Mongols, Turks, Swedes, the French, Germans […], but the Russians have taken things to an extreme, which is further proof of their descent into fascism.
The Russian tactics is expected and traditional. Zhukov loved using penal battalions to clear German minefields by marching into them.
Wagnerites are trained for 6 weeks and thrown Into the meat grinder. Nobody trains them in medevac, as wounded Wagnerites aren’t evacuated, or communication, as there’s no need for communication. They carry out traditional reconnaissance with combat, attacking multiple points and commit more troops to the points where the Ukrainian resistance is the weakest. Then, Russian paratroopers join in and exploit the breakthrough. It’s typical and traditional Russian attrition tactics. The Ukrainians decided to commit strategic reserves, like the 46th Airmobile Brigade that was trained in the UK. That brigade committed 2 out of 5 battalions and they lost at least 30% of soldiers fighting in Soledar. So, the Ukrainians lose professional troops, while the Russians lose expendables. If the West doesn’t ramp up weapon deliveries to Ukraine and don’t send ATACMs to fvck up Russian logistics, Ukraine will be in a big trouble by the summer.
The American Bradleys and the German Marders are barely enough to equip one Ukrainian mechanised brigade, while there are 10 of them without any APCs and tanks. Russia is able to replace its lost equipment, while Ukraine isn’t without help from outside.
Regarding Barry Hussein’s comment about Russia, he was right. The USSR was the world’s second economy and it had the third-largest population. Russia is not even remotely close to that level.
I don’t think the West should allow to be terrorised or held by the balls by a country whose economy is smaller than the Spanish one or the Texan one.
If this sh1t is going to carry on, the Russians will get their colonies back and start using their population and resources to fvck the West up. There won’t be expendable Wagnerites, but expendable Ukrainians, Belarusians, Kazakhs, Tajiks, perhaps even Poles and Lithuanians.
Likewise, the Mongol Empire would not have expanded so much if it had not used Chinese soldiers, engineers and scientists, Korean sailors, non-Mongolic horse archers, etc.
The situation now is the same like 800 years ago. Russia’s territory is the former Mongol Empire and Putin Khan uses the same tactics; terror, blackmail, faithlessness, bribery and murdering civilians to discourage enemy soldiers from fighting.
