On paper, anything is possible. But I don´t share your optimism. I would if for example the production of Leclerc tanks would be running and Ukraine would get ten a month...but they are getting AMX10´s, used, maybe a coule of this or that and have to combine with other used equipment.

It is necessary to standardize weapons needed and just make tons of them, even even hundred more tons of ammo. It should not be a weapons expo but a collection of weapons selected by the people involved in the war.
for once I agree with you here... it is very frustrating to follow what is happening here... I do not understand the reluctance. This war needs to not only end, it needs to be decisively won by Ukraine. Their might be a window of diminishing returns when it comes to supplying Ukraine with what it needs to win, that time is now, not next year... They seem to have the will and the manpower at the moment, but that could change to the point that even all the weapons in the world would not be enough for them. 50 bradleys? whats that, a company size element?
they need more than a few dozen leos, or a few dozen whatever, and they need it now. so frustrating to watch this unfold.

the takeaway that I get from that is that they dont see the war as morally wrong. They would be fine with it if the casualties were less or if "someone else" was fighting it... nothing will change significantly in Russia until they realize they are in the wrong.

Despite Russia: Germany’s economy grew by 1.9% in 2022

And Russias shrank by 4 to 15 % depending on how you view it. Without a war it was expected to grow by 4 %.

In reality the GDP/productivity etc. loss is way higher

In the middle of a political crisis where government has many hands tied, keeping the promise.

I am allocating $25 million (UAH 1 billion) today to help our soldiers, defenders, and their families. The money will be used to cover different needs — from providing medical and prosthetic treatment and psychological support to meeting specific requests. To ensure transparency, the project will have a professional independent team that will be in touch with the Azovstal defenders, their families, care providers, and volunteers.

very likely to be truth, but it won't be like February offensive. Ukies are 5x more prepared than that time and Intel will also help a lot if this offensive starts.

My big fear is a lot of the GDP growth this year is on the account of the inflation and not really on the "natural" growth of the economy.

Russia/Putin doesnt care about casualties, because he is Stalin.

Spring is the time for an offence, and hence why the west is sending tanks and IFV's, to strengthen UKR forces. Looks like Patriot is being sent mostly to deal with the ballistic missiles Russia is using.

Several sources say another call up is planned by Russia, again triggering the West to increase the arms shipments.

It looks like UK has been buying stuff on the world market, and is also looking further at what we plan to retire in the next few years, to start shipping some of it, so FV432 has been mentioned, and I'd expect Warrior to follow. FV is 60 years old, already.......

I hope the UKR can dig in, and they slaughter the russian forces. Who knows maybe the russian people decide 100K dead is enough.....

Inflation is usually already factored in. Real GDP growth for the US in Q3 for example was 3,2 % already adjusted for inflation.

The benefits of Russia’s coming disintegration

We are currently witnessing an unfolding revolution in global security that Western policy makers are clearly unprepared for — the impending collapse of the Russian Federation.

Instead of planning contingencies for external spillovers and capitalizing on Russia’s de-imperialization, however, Western officials appear to be stuck in a bygone era, believing they can return to the post-Cold War status quo, with some even offering Moscow security guarantees to keep the country intact.

But Russia is a failed state. It’s been unable to transform itself into a nation-state, a civic state or even a stable imperial state. It is a federation in name only, as the central government pursues a policy of ethnic and linguistic homogenization and denies any powers to the country’s 83 republics and regions. However, hyper-centralization has exposed the country’s multiple weaknesses, including a contracting economy squeezed by international sanctions, military defeats in Ukraine that reveal the incompetence and corruption of its ruling elite, and disquiet in numerous regions over their shrinking budgets.

Moscow is finally being exposed as a rapacious imperial center that’s exhausting its capacities to hold the country together. Yet, most Western leaders still fail to see the benefits of Russia’s disintegration.

I think/hope the western leaders avoid such talk, simply to avoid Russia or even china of saying we caused it, plotted it, CIA, bay of pigs etc. This clusterfuck is Russia/putin's doing, and they need to own it.

As many have said, why should USA and the rest pay for a war in Ukraine, because for a few BN we are defeating Russia, instead of hundreds of BN and thousands of our own troops dead.
