Because of the massive sonar array, the Yasen/Severodvinsk SSGNs have their torpedo tubes mounted amidships and below the waterline, or at least hidden under a tarp.
The Yasen class, Russian designations Project 885 Yasen and Project 885M Yasen-M (Russian: Ясень, lit. 'ash tree', NATO reporting name: Yasen), also referred to as Graney class, are series of newest nuclear-powered cruise missile submarines designed by Malakhit and being constructed by Sevmash for the Russian Navy. Based on the Akula class and Alfa class designs, the Yasen class is projected to replace Russian Navy's current Soviet-era nuclear attack submarines.

TCG Muavenet (DM 357) burns after being hit with missiles from USS Saratoga (CV-60) in 1992. USS Saratoga (CV-60) fired upon the Turkish destroyer TCG Muavenet (DM 357) during joint EXERCISE DISPLAY DETERMINATION 92. Five Turkish sailors were killed in the incident.
