The Nyland Brigade is the name of the Uusimaa Brigade (Uudenmaan prikaati in Finnish) only in Swedish. In Finland, Swedish and Finnish names are used - this is due to the history of this country.

In April 2023, the NATO flag was hoisted on the mine countermeasures vessel Purunpää. Coastal Fleet exercised in the Gulf of Finland with the German and Portuguese frigates deployed with Standing Nato Maritime Group 1.
The exercise was the Finnish Navy's first during Finland's full NATO membership. The Rauma-class missile boats Raahe and Porvoo also participated in the exercise.Operating together now went fluently because interoperability has been developed already for a long time.
