Jamaican Defense Force Bell 505

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) ordered six Bell 505 JetRanger X helicopters in February 2021 for public safety operations and pilot training, according to Bell Newsroom and FlightGlobal. These helicopters will be used by the Caribbean Military Aviation School (CMAS) to train international rotorcraft pilots, according to Bell Newsroom. The Bell 505 is a single-engine turbine helicopter with a maximum cruise speed of 125 knots (231 km/h) and an internal useful load of 680 kg (1,500 lb), according to FlightGlobal. The JDF currently operates a fleet of Bell helicopters, including 429s and 407s, and the Bell 505 will augment these aircraft, according to FlightGlobal.
