Russia is a very large country, and the fighting was extremely fierce, even in difficult-to-reach areas. I think there are still many such places.

YES. I remember when this was found back then, indeed it was in very good condition and found in an a white birch forest that was likely nothing but saplings when it crashed there so the plane wasn't damaged from the landing much at all. As I recall it didn't have battle damage either thus I believe it was a mechanical difficulties that brought it down but I could be wrong. No sign of the pilot .
