I know this event has not happened as yet but today is the day so any imagery of the coronation can be posted here.

Please be aware this is not a place to air your views about the British Monarchy, it is to celebrate a day in British History and our new king.

I still feel the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, I have served her my entire life until her tragic passing but a King we now have and as a front line worker I will serve him for a few more years until retirement.

GOD SAVE THE KING!

Our king is graciously awarding all front line workers a medal to mark his coronation.

St. Edward’s Crown, 1661.jpeg

St. Edward’s Crown, 1661 A piece of royal history, it is the centerpiece of the coronation regalia as it is exclusively used for the act of crowning. It was made for Charles II following the Restoration. Its medieval predecessor — which was melted down in 1649 — was believed to date back to the 11th century royal saint, Edward the Confessor.

On absolutely nobodies bingo card was Nick Cave arriving with a former Archbishop of Canterbury.

At first I read "Nick Cage" and was a bit confused...

And, with it, it is done.

I thought it a brilliant and beautiful ceremony. Nobody does pageantry like Britain. Glad to see the Commonwealth militaries (and police) representation. I'm sure Jill Biden and granddaughters dresses were a nod of support to Ukraine. But how about the colors in Westminster Abbey: Blue and yellow carpeting - a quiet show of support from the Crown?
