Commandant Edwin Conroy

This 22-year old cape rebel commandant lead quite a successful guerrilla onslaught in Griekwaland with Lategan and later in the North-Western Cape with Smuts and Maritz. After the war he fled to German-SWA to avoid prosecution for war-crimes. He took part in the 1914 rebellion. He eventually was a member of parliament from 1922-1943.
