50 Year commemoration of the Boer War Peace of Vereeniging by war veterans held at St Paul's cathedral in 1952.

Seems they present their regimental standards but all these chaps should be around 70+

Boer veteran reunion at a battlefield

The photo was taken in the 1930's

Note the artillery projectiles in front supposedly picked up at the
battlefield.

Capt. Whitmore back home in Cambridge with his war trophies.

Quite a haul of items.

He seemed to have loved hunting and the kudu horns looks like Rowland ward size?. In those days only open sight hunting, no scopes... Others: Springbok, Oryx and Impala

Rifles: 1 x Mauser, 2 x Lee-Enfield/Metford, 1 x Lee carbine, 2 x shotguns

Great collection of Zulu assegais, shields and knopkieries.

3 x M-Henry? bayonets and also a pattern 1888

Shells: Boer 75mm CF Creusot, 120mm Krupp casing, 37mm Pom-Poms, 4.7 inch casing, Krupp 75mm casings, 15pr shells, and others (MC help please)
Neville was wondering if the shells were de-actvated...in those days the arms handling and ordnance safety was bad.

Very interesting a Kruger tea-cup in the display

ZASM railways bell and Brass plate

Stuffed monitor and birds and Springbok hide

en mielies haha
