Mil News Current Iran/Iraq/US Tensions and Actions Unfolding

I say we should stop with this sissy legal seizure nonsense, with all the sanctions and procedures etc. etc. I say lets bring the privateering back, like in the good ol' days. Will make things so much more effective and entertaining.

Quote from the article:

"France, Germany and the United Kingdom had also pushed back on a U.S. threat to impose sanctions on Iran if the Security Council voted to let the embargo expire. The U.S. negotiated the right to do so under the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal. But the European countries argued the U.S. was not in a position to use the so-called snapback option after withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018. "

Well, I distinctly remember people criticising me and getting on my case for calling France, Germany and Britain appeasers and pushovers vis-a-vis Iran.

Nah Fam, it's cool, let these genocidal maniacs acquire state of the art weaponry from China and Russia, nothing wrong with that. Well at least they won't have to store kilotons of ammonium-nitrate in other peoples' cities anymore.

Why, wouldn't someone like to tell the idiots who run FRA, GBR and DEU that the US is very much in a position to trigger the snap-back clause, not abiding by the treaty's stipulations does not undo your legal status as one of the original parties of that treaty, otherwise IRAN wouldn't be an original party of that treaty anymore, smh...

This thing looks as though it might entail some reckoning after all...

I take solace in the fact that Merkel is essentially on her way out, but there is no guarantee that her successor is any better. @Y'all, if the next German chancellor's name you hear in the news should be "Laschet", be so kind and include me in your prayers, please.

So, in the end it was Iran and not Russia.

I wonder what got the media confused for so long... Well, ok, these two countries have letters in common.

I'm confused. Sure also because CNN actually more or less corrected some of their shoddy conspiracy theory reporting, but more specifically because they first mention the Haqqani network as being the source of the attack and then go on to state multiple times that Taliban fighters carried it out. But they're not the same, and they don't really go together well, even more so because the Taliban has far more to gain by peace at this point than by carrying out an attack no matter how big. Long term gains vs short term posturing.

Funny how they say that no concrete actions were taken after the attack. Well except for taking out the head terrorist and several of his underlings in various locations but that's only good if Obama does it while taking out a few dozen family members in the process as "reasonable collateral"

I suppose, when you (CNN) spent so many years intensively spewing unsubstanciated BS, at some point it gets hard to keep track of what is what.

The guy pulls no punches and says what's on his mind and most of the time the dude is correct:

Surprising, isn't it? I thought there was supposed to be a Third World War by now, you know, cause US killed that Iranian general.
Or cause you know Iran attacked US base but US didn't suffer any casualties, apart from 100 or so soldiers asking medicine intervention.

The Democrats, making the Mid-East an even worse powder keg than it has to be since 1979. On the other hand a Biden admin returning to the JCPOA will surely accelerate the rapprochement between Israel and most mid-eastern arab nations. There will likely be an Israeli-Arab block in the ME closing ranks against the US and Iran, such interesting time we live in.

The Democrats haven't even completed stealing this election and already it looks like war. You may dismiss these as the tweets of some online nutcase but that particular guy called the Azerbaijani offensive against Nagorno-Karabakh more than a week ahead of it actually happening and likewise predicted the employment of Syrian Jihadists by Turkey for that purpose.

The Israelis might actually just use what little time they have left to take the initiative.

I take no pleasure in saying this, but we actually needed Trump.

Its been tried, and it failed every time.

Fixed fortifications without offensive protection, air cover, arty cover, etc, will fall, or worked around, as the maginot.

As mentioned in the tweet, Germany tried it with V2.

But impressive hole in the ground, cant have been cheap, will make a nice museum.....

Did you even bother to read the article? These fortifications are by no means unprotected. They have been designed to withstand nuclear blasts.

Good luck with trying to take them out while your air bases in the region are effectively under fire of barrage of missiles.

and once one of those V2, i mean Scuds, sorry I mean al bashir or whatever, goes up, then you will get a really nice chain effect. which no-one could out run.

Well maybe John Mclane could...

I was just going to post this - some people never learn from history

All the B2's have now had the bomb racks updated to carry the revised 'earthquake' bombs

PS 'Rod from god' - would also make a real mess of a fixed fortification
