I know we are now required to comment on the social media links we are sharing, but aside from a rhetorical question i am not sure what to say here.

So, as far as rhetorical question goes, wtf is going on here?
How is the hell can this be deemed proper?

WTAF!

Mahmoud Khalil, a former Columbia University student who was one of the most visible leaders of nationwide pro-Palestinian campus protests against Israel, is released from a federal detention center.

Khalil, a legal permanent resident in the United States who is married to a US citizen and has a US-born son, has been in custody since March facing potential deportation.

“This shouldn’t have taken three months,” Khalil, wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh scarf, tells US media outside an immigration detention center in Jena, Louisiana hours after a federal judge ordered his release.
Ugh, these district judges are out of control...

An AI assist that can talk to the cops and inform them of human rights laws would be useful but like body cameras not switched on.

Absolutely. I mean, look, I get it, public proselytising can be annoying. But even if we assume that that woman abused her authority just to shut someone up (instead of protecting liberal sensitivities), it'd be a scandal still.

I'd go to court over this, but I can imagine the outcome.

The British legal system makes it fascinatingly difficult to find redress for violations of civic and human rights. Excuse the segue, but that's one aspect of Brexit that's always been so baffling to me: When it came to cases of free speech, freedom of faith and parental rights, the European Court of Justice did a much better job protecting the rights of British citizens than their own courts.
