The Mandalorian.

There was a lot in this that made me happy. Timothy Olyphant, yet again playing a Marshall - shades of Seth Bullock and Raylen Givens. W Earl Brown playing the alien bartender guy so a Deadwood reunion of sorts with Olyphant.

And frankly, I've just missed this -

I finished watching The Man I The High Castle a couple of days ago. I began watching some years ago and only got to the end of the second season. Picked up recently, but had to go back watching it all from S1, I had forgotten too many important plotlines.

I must say, pretty split on that one. The show had great characters/actors, brilliantly dark premise and fantastic production value. Yet despite all this they managed to make it a complete let down by limiting the show to four seasons (money issues perhaps?). So they had to find some way to tie all the plotlines up in the last episode, up to that point I really liked it.

So for me it was Star Trek Enterprise all over again. That show also ended on its fourth season and I was thoroughly disappointed.

They really managed to give you a reasonably realistic sense of what the world would have looked like in the 60s had the Axis-Powers won WW2. Thankfully they didn't.

I have finished watching the Netflix and German original series “Barbarians”

Not too shabby, much better than this “La révolution” crap fest French series.

It’s as per the name of the series about the Roman Empire and those Germans Teutons and peasants. Enjoyable. Well acted and directed. Done with the first season and hoping for a second now.

OK...after this I have to return to something a little more serious...

Sooooooo they were probably running out of zombie ideas, so having all the animals turning on humans and developing new intelligence and survival features seemed pretty appealing. Apparently it´s from a book.

I hope the book makes more sense than the show.

The scenario seems loose, implausible, the acting is quite poor, the conspiracy from the first minute of the show? Yes it´s good. Dead ends, shortcuts...not to mention poor special effects for the most part. Don´t get the Blu Ray.

As the season goes further, the ideas move into the more burlesque and grotesque developments to make things work...

But...it´s entertaining as people do get ripped to shreds by animals who you did´nt think even existed...because they don´t.

ladies and Gentlemen: zoo...

Started watching it yesterday, was a bit sceptical initially but turned out great. There will be a second season, but most probably not before 2022.

I presume this story is not much known outside of Germany.

Loosely based on the historical destruction of 3 roman legions in the Battle of Teutoburg Forest.

I enjoyed watching the series, looking forward to a new season ;)

The Haunting of Bly House.......... Wanted to like, but I'm in the "meh" mode currently. Or, is that the "bleeeee" mode?

Having the Romans speak latin was a nice touch, I just hope that show does not get the Vikings treatment and dragged in countless unnecessary and convoluted plot twists.

Never thought I would like this series but it has grabbed me, thoroughly recommend it ;) (Y)

Started the new season of the Crown...

Diana and Maggie just arrived.

It´s a remarkable program. And with a little personal background on politics and history, it´s marvelous to watch.

Season 4 of "the Crown" is highly addictive.

With Dana Scully playing an amazing Maggie, a most charming and beautiful actress to play, Diana (Emma Corin), and the start of the Falkands war, I have to fight with myself to turn the damn thing off.

Prince Charles is really not portrayed positively in this season.
