Could only stand the first 30 seconds of that guy. "The first 5 days Russia was moving with slow, cautious, methodical movements".

Sweet Jesus. . Russia's initial advance was a S**t-show of unpreparedness, arrogance, hasty planning, and total under-estimation of the Ukrainian military capabilities, patriotism and resolve; of which they are now only recovering from.

lol

Posted that a few pages ago. Interesting the way Jennifer Griffin spends 10 minutes bristling after he left. On the previous page I posted another interview with Macgregor. Worth a listen. He's usually right on. But he goes against the mainstream narrative.

None of this had to happen.
Sorry, somehow I didn't see that it was posted before.

That's a lovely person who's tweeting there. No wonder they're appreciative of Fox's talking points.
No wonder they wanted to rig the election for Trump the terrible if that is the advice he likes.

I know, I was saying that they are to the Russian Military kinda what the USMC is to the US one. They're supposed to be used recklessly, but airdropping them among high-rises is a bit of a stretch.
I am not sure that air assault is confirmed.

Going slow and being incompetent are not mutually exclusive.

By Ukrainian sources in Mariupol following units may be blocked>

If Ukrainian forces didn’t withdraw its troops from the city, the following units are now besieged: 36th Marines Brigade, a mechanized brigade (probably 56th Mechanized Brigade), a battalion of Azov Regiment, and 12th Operational Brigade of Ukrainian National Guard.

War is was but business in business.....

I can see why Colonel was his highest rank. Still I am sure he did a great job at polishing the brass on his door every day.
Underestimate someone's achievemento_O.... nice job there. What opinion you have for ordinary US soldiers NCO or junior officers... common you could do better.

Yeah I have a cousin who made Colonel in the NZ Army. And I can also see why his career topped out there.

Actually, beyond any possible brass polishing, Macgregor is a West Point graduate, and commanded an armored cavalry formation in Desert Storm which destroyed a dug in, numerically superior, Republican Guard armored division in 23 minutes with no US casualties. The Battle of 73 Eastings is still studied today and is required reading at armor schools. Do some research on him. He's smarter than most of us here.

And Weasily Clark commanded NATO during Kosovo but I still don't put him on a pedestal.

I don't put Clark on a pedestal either. What's the opposite of pedestal? Macgregors last minute of the interview where he talks about Putin and China is probably the most important.

This gave me a good chuckle ... Didn't someone ask about Putin's best buddy, former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder? Yesterday it emerged Germany's parliament postponed the decision on whether or not Schroeder should be stripped of his pension and allowances for an office, bodyguards and staff (which he's due by law as a former head of government). None knew why. Well, now we do: There's no need anymore, writes daily 'Frankfurter Allgemeine'. All his staff quit in protest, and his landlord gave him the notice. Serves him right!

He may have been an excellent field commander, and his assessments of Russian tactics may as well be correct. His political assessment, on the other hand, is as right or wrong as yours, mine or @The_Kiwi's. I would say it is wrong. Putin's speech (especially if seen in the light of that essay of his published late last year) make it clear he was going to attack Ukraine anyway on grounds of his pan-Slavic and neo-tsarist agenda.

He needed no instigating, I think.

Maybe, maybe not. We'll never know. I wish the Ukrainian people well. But it's apparent that things are going to get very ugly now.
