Did he really just make the argument that the referendums held during this war in the occupied regions hold some legitimacy? What a train wreck.

Do you remember when Kamala pointed out in a debate how easy it is by a dictator to sway Trump by saying platitudes?

Russia has the biggest disparity between claimed kills and confirmed kills in history by an epic margin.

Unlike russia the US doesn't send prototypes into combat to sucker other countries into funding it's development.

Saw a YT video by some "totally unbiased just factually reporting definitely-not-a-russian" a few months ago saying that dozens of SU-57s were operating over Donbas daily, and that contrary to lying western reporting production was proceeding at numbers western manufacturers could only dream of.

Upwards of a 10-1 advantage in jet aircraft, Ukrainian air force still flying after 1,124 days of unrestricted warfare.

US could sell Turkey F-35s if it transfers or renders inoperable it's S-400s. Hmmm...where could they go?

Easily to manipulate. Witkoff can't even name the regions shows you how much understanding he has. Unbelievable.

But gracious oh so gracious big Putin prayed in a church and Russias leading artist made a portrait of Trump. So beautiful...so nice so great so caring. Yes these are the good guys no question...

Love how it states that "China is asking the EU if it can join in on the peacekeeping force" The one participant that can truly stop the war in Ukraine, asking first.

Playing the game. They made a mistake though which sidelined them.

Should have supported Ukraine the EU would have opened the economic gates.

They could have even take over sone of US lead roles after that.

But so we saw how Xi secretly hoped for Russias win and the Wests collapse..

The Russian Su-34NVO fighter-bomber was able to make an emergency landing "on the fuselage" for the first time in history. Before this, the Su-34 dropped FAB aerial bombs in the border area of the Kursk region of Russia. The aircraft's hydraulic landing gear release system probably failed. It was reported that the aircraft was being flown by young pilots, they could have ejected, but decided to land the plane. The pilots "shot off" the cockpit window in advance so that they could quickly leave the aircraft after landing, since the lower exit was blocked.

Russia with oil and gas is too important for China for them to side openly with Ukraine

Yes but now they are economically broken.

Russia will sell oil and gas forever its all they got.

And nukes...

China made itself a quasi pariah with their stance on Ukraine and their obfuscation of Corona. And how they treat inner discourse - Li Keqiang.

Ukraine would have been a way to mend things a bit.

And it would have been strategically smarter than bet on the dead horse Russia.

I wonder how China rated russia's military power prior to the war. They've done enough joint exercises that they must have known of the weakness of the russian army. I can't believe they counted on a quick victory like the russians themselves did.

I don't see China as being an ally of either side, but rather a spectator that stands to gain regardless by both sides being weakened. They're providing the FPV drones with which both sides are exhausting each other.

That's some real Baghdad Bob-style reporting there. "Early to bed - early to rise, no good news to report so make up lies!"

Wonder why. Maybe because it works (atleast on some level)?
Witikoff isnt a seasoned diplomat.
These guys are going against former KGB agents.
That's just over the top, though. Can you imagine Putin being such a devout Christian that he went to pray with his priest - for Trump?

I can't tell what you're trying to say.
Obviously Putin did not do that, but the fact that, this was brought up to the US team and US team took it to heart and told it an interview with a known vatnik as proof how Putin is not a bad guy...

What the US right has been saying as a defense for Trump's comments, has been that you can't get Russia to the table if you are mean to them (paraphrasing a tad bit). But these comments, at least to me, show that it isn't some 4D chess but these are genuine feelings and comments of the Trump administration. Wittkoff also praised the possibilities what working together Russia would bring from the arctic to energy policy.

You yourself have said that, this whole thing isn't the business of the US, if we as Europe are not happy how the US conducts these negotiations europe can step up. Well at this point I'm 90 % of the opinion that i wish US did leave the whole continent and did not collude with Russia neither. But clearly Europe wouldn't get both, if US steps out of these negotiations it would clearly start cooperating with Russia regardless.

I see only bad to worse scenarios. Either US and Russia are doing a molotov-ribbentrop 2.0 (seems likely), US admin is incompetent on foreign policy, or US leaves the whole continent out of frustration and "we" get a true European federation out of necessity with all the problems that brings, or the whole Europe becomes just a bunch of chips to be divided into spheres of influence.

The only positive scenario is that the US admin is truly incompetent/amateurish on foreign policy and they will learn the hard way about dealing with Russia. But that might not be pretty neither. But at least that can be fixed after 1398 days.

I genuinely hope im just a pessimist and your faith on the Trump administration is proved correct. Nothing would delight me more.

The high flying lawyer real estate professional cannot define by simple name the titles of the realestate that is being negotiated ?
The man has a good memory also has a careless attitude toward Ukraine.

What I'm saying is, Putin is KGB, you'd think he'd be a bit more subtle than what has been reported. Do you really think Trump believes that Putin went to his priest and knelt down to pray for Trump? I mean, come on now.

Anyway, there will be a time when this is all over and there will be detente and the world will find a new order. Russia may or may not be useful to both the US and Europe in future world affairs. We'll see. Honestly, Europe had 3+ years to take control of this situation while Biden was sunning himself at the beach and his staff were running the government via autopen, but did not.

It's only been since Trump has taken charge that Europe is so offended by his looks/language/actions/etc., that they are even talking about taking steps. Imagine that as a motivator. The disgust they have for Trump as a person/leader/whatever, motivated Europe more, than a dictator starting a war in Europe which has killed over a million Europeans. Truly amazing.
