The sad part of it as Scott Bessent said, was the desire to show that there was zero daylight between the US and Ukraine to Russia. Well, so much for that now.

Arguably, the Ukrainian army is the best armed in Europe right now. That has to continue for a lasting peace. Or....maybe no one wants peace.

Taking a Ukrainian view, they just beat the Rottweiler nearly to death, and now everyone wants them to stop, so they can tend to the Rottweilers cuts.

4 years of this war, and the 10 years before, will have shaped their views.

Maybe the new WH team didnt take account of this so much.

Whatever happened in the WH cannot have been intended, I dont think it shows either party in a positive light.

For certain the Ukr army is very strong, hopefully if peace comes, they can spare 30K troops to NATO, to sit in the Baltics.

He simply pretended that the Orcs did not occupy his country and UA soldiers were paid extra bonuses for not returning fire before the 24th of February 2022.
If somebody shoots at you, just close your eyes and pretend it does not happen.

Likewise, if somebody carries out cyber attacks against you, just don't respond and stop seeing his cyber attacks.

Trump said he knows a lot of RuZZian oligarchs and some of them are nice people. So, he will issue golden visas to them as long as they pay a few million dollars for them.

Trump is treating this like a business deal, people have died and your country is in shambles, yet he is asking why he hates Putin, or why Zelensky is emotional when it comes to that Russian bastard? Should have asked your grandfathers "why they hated Hirohito so much during the second world war.... they really didnt deserve the 2 nukes pops"

Then again all this discussions are now just intellectual exercises, after all the US will be pulling out. Would be interesting who will fill the vacuum.

Exactly. Bad peace can come to bite us in the future. But good peace will not be achieved with current measures. Unless one believes that Russian war economy will collapse, which it won't.

He genuinely just think Europeans are as stupid and gullible as his own base is. This spin wasn't meant for us, it was meant for the Republican- and Conservative base in the US in order to save face after the travesty we all witnessed.
