From the country where firing guns at people wearing body armor at point blank range fooled the world into thinking it's peak masculinity instead of the peak retardation that it actually is.

Such cables are often in the Economic Exclusion Zone = international waters. The (Portuguese) navy does not have authority there.

Are we in 1940 and unrestricted submarine warfare already?
It is coming to that mate!!

Look for this behavior to take root by these ass clowns, they are desperate, they are loosing and badly, they are running out of stuff, a they are unable to sell it to anyone and THAT history has shown us will result in triggers being pulled and war to begin!!

Seems more like the Continental System right now seeing as war hasn't broken out and the power looking to enforce a blockade lacks the naval forces to blockade Southampton, never mind the whole of Europe, while also having to keep forces amassed for a general engagement.

The Royal Navy of 1805 could just about do it, the russian fleet at no point in history even came close to blockading any major power in open waters.

The Baltic Fleet can't leave harbor without being sunk even before running the gauntlet due Admiral-General Master Strategist's three day picknick.

The Black Sea Fleet has been forced from it's home port by a country without a navy. They'd have to somehow get past the Straits, through the Aegean, hoping the Turks and Greeks shoot at each other instead of on them from the dozens of garrisoned islands. And then they run straight into two US Carrier Strike Groups and several Destroyer Squadrons worth of ships operating in the Eastern Med.

The Pacific Fleet would need to travel half way across the globe and would founder several times requiring repairs. ETA: somewhere in 2029. That is if an evironmental disaster doesn't stop them first. Not that the russians wouldn't be stupid enough to try this since they already did twice. Tried to start a war with the Royal Navy because they thought that the Japanese navy was operating in the English Channel 🤣

The stupidity, like their alcoholism, is hereditary.

Leaving the Arctic Fleet which I'm sure can't wait to engage the US Sixth Fleet + several NATO members in the area on it's own while dodging air attacks and AShM.

Whomever thought up this plan needs a medal because they survived an amount of alcohol that killed Amy Winehouse.

And a promotion, because in russia (drunken) stupidity gets rewarded Russ:-

Their Pacific fleet? As mentioned, deploying those ships would be a replay of their 1903 war with Japan. By the time Russia's mighty fleet got to Vladivostok, it was in dire need of another refit and several colliers. But they sailed forth anyway... and got their collective a$$ handed to them.

But I could be wrong - they might have uber secret naval cope cages to defend against those nasty drone boats! ;)

I've read that the offensive around Kharkiv was meant as a distraction, and only 2,000 troops were actively involved with another 2,000 in reserve meant to draw in Ukrainian reserves so russia could launch their primary attacks in Donbas (and imo Sumy if they want to try to envelop Kharkiv).
