He certainly never dreamed that a pair of sweets and wet wipes could one day be more important than a gold watch for his birthday...

Oh noes no veggies in the UK but abundance in prospering RuZZia

A horde of Putinist commentators assaulted theh comments section to tell about immense prosperity happening in Russia right now.

In 2022 twice as much new houses were sold for example. Or move to a rural Russian region and earn 3000€ / month as a welder there.

Come to RuZZia!!

The comments are gold.

This one though is interesting:

Is it true, coupons issued in St.Petersburg?

As a Russian, I am ashamed of this lying, Kremlin-paid article. I don't know what year these beautiful pictures from Russian shops were taken, but now, in March 2023, the situation is radically different. Even in megalopolises like St Petersburg a coupon system has already been introduced. Yesterday my wife stood in line for eight hours for coupons. Coupons are issued for 1 week, then you have to queue again. In a week, for a family of 4 we were entitled to buy 2 kg of rice, 2 kg of flour, 6 kg of turnip, 2 jars of Nutella (only for children), 4 jars of pickled hedgehogs and 2 litres of mole vodka. That's it!

While the reality is closer to this:

We haven't seen such brutal military realities in the West since the 19th century, since the Napoleonic wars in fact. It brings to mind the press gangs for the British navy, and the huge rum rations onboard ships to keep sailors from mutinying. And before that, the famous words of Frederick the Great to his troops, “Dogs, would you live forever?” In much of the world, especially in the Western alliance, there's been a huge advance in concern for the lives and living conditions of combat personnel not least in the form of sufficient pay and food in warzones. Russia's conscripts hail from places where such modernization never happened, even in civilian life. Here, in The Moscow Times, is a vivid description of their lives back home, “Collection of scrap metal was an honorable alternative to petty theft, though the metal had to be stolen anyway. Chances are you knew someone who killed someone. You sure knew someone who drank themselves to death (maybe it was your dad).”

Can’t translate full video. All of these participants in this video are fully supportive of putlers war. Even the young one, these are the true faces of ruSSia. These fookers don’t care about anyone. They have no feelings for anyone. Few days ago saw video with ruSSian dude, he said: “why should I emphasize to Ukrainians? Let them die, I don’t give a F”

Didnt they buy them from France? Because the Russian ones were so good......so Putin will have paid for 2000 sets, and received 500, all of which have literally gone up in smoke in Ukraine.

Yes complete with tech transfer and production in Russia. But it never reached the intended production/technical capabilities.

You're most probably right. I would even say they only received 2 out of local production and made a larger effort to hide that fact than building the devices.

They're stuck in the communist era logic of "Who's this interview for". Of course they won't openly criticize the war because someone can always identify them and throw the book at them.
