What has Russia to offer? An ineffective workforce cobbling together 5 tanks and 3 aircraft in 5 years?

I am really sceptical about Russian volume production involving something better then 1960s techniques.

Once the Challenger barrels wear out in one or two hundred rounds or so then they will have to be doing that "crush them beneath my tracks" thing....
Just going off of the 1 shot - 1 kill standard for Abrams/Leo/Challenger, more than a mile or so beyond a T-90 even being aware it's being shot at, that 100 or 200 rounds is good for 100 or 200 Russian tanks. Even cutting that in half, 50-100 kills between barrel changes is not too shabby.

We've gotten used to Soviet tank vs Soviet tank battles here. A Challenger or Abrams might be able to take 5 or 10 hits from a T-90 and keep fighting. That's assuming a T-90(s) can even get close enough to use it's gun - which it wouldn't.

Yeah... at least she wants us to have a livable planet, which I can agree with. We also need a working economy and a lot of energy to not implode as a civilization.

I like to think that in this world we need both kinds of people, people with wild visions and those who understand the realities.
not to mention there are more serious issues than 'global warming'. plastic and chemical pollution, as well as habitat degradation due to development are far more serious issues.
the earth has been warmer before, and colder before, and during the warmer times, life on earth has flourished... not so much during the colder periods.

A Polish analyst said the Russians have a few tank factories and repair workshops that they upgrade to tank factories. Realistically, they have 5 tank factories after the mobilisation right now. Most of the tanks they produce are not very modern, but they have a fvckton of T-62s that could be upgraded and they are able to restore 1500 old tanks within 12 months.

As I said before, Ukraine is not going to win if the West doesn’t supply it with hundreds of tanks due to the Russian reserves and them refurbishing 100-150 old tanks each month.
Western tanks cannot be produced quickly enough and they are over engineered. Some, third parties, like South Korea, produce their own tanks and SPGs, but it will be busy producing them for Poland now.
If the USA doesn’t want to send its M1s that are stored on the desert, the only solution will be purchasing T-72s, Challanger 1s, M-60s in Third World countries, which is not an ideal solution, as there will be a big problem with spare parts since these tanks aren’t produced anymore.

Update: Apparently the "arrest" was staged.

When that happens I think the UKR will manage to jury rig some caliber of heavy arty barrels on them. :p ukra:- :p

They say they recently produced 200 T-90M, which is a pretty good tank.

Russia isnt WW2 USSR, they can probably refurb 50 or so old T62 a month, for the next 2-3 years. Given their manpower losses, manning this refurb will be a challenge.

The west, probably we should order 500 new build tanks, either for Ukraine after the war, or for us.....

I dont know which of the old tanks would be better, probably best to ship the best condition ones and let Ukraine sort it out. The Challenger 1 and the M60's are mostly tired, spare parts will be needed and hard to find. Not impossible, and much better than a T62. Hopefully USA is going to commit 150-200 older Abrams, and Germany ok's the leo deals, plus the chally 2 we are sending. All of these will have a massive superiority over most of what Russia has fielded(and lost).

I also hope USA will offer more Bradley, and Germany more marder, and the UK which had 800 warrior, could spare 50 or 100.

Given some of the recent videos, I suspect the Ukr will just drive these vehicles up to knackered Russian trenches and shoot them. Bypassing the cities, which the Russians then seem to withdraw from.
